Re: gel nails

gel nails are not permanent....they can be removed, but when you do take them off, your nails are left very thin and fragile; sometimes even sensitive to touch.

they are quite sturdy so you can work in the kitchen quite easily once you adjust to the thickness. keep in mind that you will no longer be able to scratch labels, etc. off jars or pick up coins and such items from flat surfaces. it takes getting used to......just like any other change.

refills need to be done every 2 to 3 weeks, so this does get expensive if you don't budget for it.

I would not advise doing refills at home since special equipment is required. And even if you invest in the drill and bits, etc., you can never get the shape just right for yourself......you need someone else to do it for you.

btw....gel nails look gorgeous when applied by an experienced professional. They can be left with no colour as they are not opaque like the acrylic ones.
