My daughter loves pizza and I want to buy it so that I can make it at home for her. I am not very good is using ovens and turning it on and more comfortable with these small kitchen appliance so any feedback will help me to decide.
I never owned or used one of these. What is wrong with turning on your oven? Or you can try pan recipes that cook the pizza in a pan and then grill the top. Here is my homemade pizza recipe:
3/4 cup white flour - 1/4 cup wholemeal roti atta.
1/2 to 3/4 cup water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dried active yeast.
Oil for covering dough ball
Throw all the ingredients in a food mixer (kenwod chef) and add the water slowly until you get a sticky dough. The dough should be sticky otherwise it will be a dry pizza when cooked.
Remove dough from bowl with oiled hands and place in another oiled bowl, cover dough with some oil on the surface, then cover bowl with cling film. Leave for a least 2 hours for it to rise. It will double in size.
Turn oven on highest setting.
Remove from bowl, and place in middle of round baking tray, use fingers to press down the dough ball into a flat disc pizza base, pushing down more than out, until the pan is full to the edge. Add your homemade sauce (chopped tomatoes, basil, herbs, garlic, onion, whatever you like) and sliced toppings then cheese. Add sauce and topping right to the edge. If you want to get fancy you can make a stuffed crust.
Bake on the highest setting in your oven for 10 minutes.
