This may be of interest to people who are doing research on policy in developing countries.
abstract:
Research in BRP phase II focuses on identifying practical ways of:
- influencing the demand for, and uptake of, research by policy-makers;
- how researchers can try to ensure their work has a greater and faster impact on policy;
- how different types of network and policy research communities influence policymaking;
- and the impact that international issues in general and donors in particular have on bridging research and policy.
Proposals should be submitted in the format described above and must address the key research questions. All proposals will be assessed by an international Research Review Committee which reserves the right to suggest some changes in project design prior to approval.
Successful applicants will be expected to join the GDN research community before commencing the research (if not already members of GDN) and may be required to attend pre-project orientation and/or post-project synthesis workshops (expenses for which will be paid separately by GDN). Projects should commence no later than July 2003 and be completed within one year.
