Gaza Under attack

Re: Gaza Under attack

Whether it has any impact on Israel or not is not relevant at least they are speaking against evil and standing up for humanity. It has only symbolic value.

Since the Zionists control the U.S I did not expect the ban to last long.

This is state terrorism. They can terrorise as much as they like, which will only fuel more hate for Israel but at some stage they need to send the ground troops in, and that is the time when they will start paying the price, otherwise their mission wlll remain unfulfilled and this operation would have been nothing more than genocide and ethnic cleansing.

Re: Gaza Under attack

That was one tough long day for poor Israelis. No international flights coming into Israel for temporarily basis. It felt like end of the world. Hight of injustice and what not. Yet nearly a decade old economic and humanitarian blockade of Gaza is a non issue for Zionists and their supporters. Palestinians are not allowed to release a cry in protest?

Let’s see what Israeli politicians have to say for Gaza:

**Gilad Sharon - **“Flatten all of Gaza. The Americans didn’t stop with Hiroshima – the Japanese weren’t surrendering fast enough, so they hit Nagasaki, too,”

Ariel Sharon’s son Gilad calls on Israel to ‘flatten Gaza’ - Telegraph

The bast*rd son of the butcher is openly advocating nuking of Gaza (and look who the role model state is), and yet these same people and their supporters have the bloody nerve to expect Palestinians to declare eternal love and pledge lasting allegiance to these murderers? They don’t see Palestinians as humans, they wish them no good. Yet these are the people who act like victims for forever and think they can fool the world by ‘we want peace’ charade?

Another gem:

MK Yishai - it is our responsibility to return Gaza 40 years into the past regarding infrastructure and technology. We have the ability to do so and so it is our responsibility to see it is done.” Arutz Sheva - Israel National News.

No words on

According to the Guardian, a survey published by Israeli University reveals that 94% of Israelis support the ongoing operation while 4% believes ‘too much force is being used’. Where is this world heading?

Meanwhile, 13 people (mostly youth) have been killed by IDF in West Bank in pro Gaza protests.

Re: Gaza Under attack

No one is gonna throw a nuke, because the radiation will affect the people throwing it due to the proximity of the two communities at stake here.

Otherwise let's say Gaza had been far enough away, yeah prolly a nuke would have fallen on them by now. Which is probably why no arab country wants to be involved, because they know that this could escalate into a world war in which nukes would end up being used.

Re: Gaza Under attack

How is West Bank different? Why are these issues not happening in the West Bank? Is it not subject to the same restrictions that Gaza is?

Does anyone know if that Turkish boat got thru to get supplies or they've bombed that too?

Re: Gaza Under attack

The fact reference is being made to Hiroshima and Nagasaki is absolutely disgusting. Plenty of Israeli MPs have issued statements advocating total wiping out of Gaza. Such vile sentiments define psychopathy.

As much as they wish they could, Israelis won't drop a nuke on Gaza. Phosphorous gas is enough to do the trick.

Spanish actress Penelope Cruz and her actor husband Javier Bardem sign an open letter calling Israel’s operation in Gaza “genocide.”

The two are joined by director Pedro Almodovar; all three are Oscar winners. Dozens of other Spanish actors, musicians, and writers sign the letter, which calls on the European Union to “condemn the bombing by land, sea and air against the Palestinian civilian population in the Gaza Strip.”

“Gaza is living through horror these days, besieged and attacked by land, sea and air,” the industry members write. “Palestinians’ homes are being destroyed, they are being denied water, electricity [and] free movement to their hospitals, schools and fields while the international community does nothing.”

Over 100 Congressmen call on UN to condemn Hamas**

WASHINGTON — Over one hundred congressmen prepare to deliver a strong missive to the United Nations’ High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi Pillay, calling on the UN to condemn Hamas’s use of civilians as human shields, which they say is a direct violation of international law.

Reps. Steve Israel (D-NY), Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL), Ted Deutch (D-FL) and Tom Cole (R-OK) announce that they had secured the signatures of over 100 members of Congress from both sides criticizing Hamas’s policy of using human shields, as well as its practice of launching missiles aimed at civilians in Israeli population centers and its refusal to de-escalate the conflict by adhering to internationally-backed ceasefires.

“The fact that Hamas uses Palestinian civilians as human shields shows their blatant disregard for human life. Israel, on the other hand, is doing everything in its power, not only to protect its own citizens, but also to prevent as much as possible causalities among Palestinians,” Rep. Israel wrote in a statement announcing the letter.

“That the UN is choosing to wrongly investigate Israel’s actions rather than condemning Hamas’ continual violation of international law is simply despicable. That’s why I join my colleagues in calling on the UN to rethink its course.”
“This letter puts the UNHRC on alert that it can no longer continue its anti-Israel agenda, and it must investigate Hamas’ human rights violations,” warned Ros-Lehtinen.

Good luck surviving in Hollywood now, Pen.

Harvey Weinstein has just slammed the door on you. You are definitely in his bad books now.

Re: Gaza Under attack

What human shields?? I don't get this.

There has been no evidence that any of these people have been told to stay in their homes and get bombed. None.

Furthermore, it defies common sense logic.

If you already know where the darn tunnels are, and that's what you're really after, then clearly, the tunnel is a LINE or at least a curvy contour of sorts, which MUST pass through areas that are closer to your own border that you already have a buffer zone next to (impinging on gazan agricultural land preventing them from growing food for themselves). You could just bomb the lines corresponding to those tunnels in those areas.

Like if you have a line that stretches from point A to Z, and somewhere in the middle is a UN shelter near D, right...then why would you bomb D when you had points A thru Z minus D to bomb? You're clearly after the shelters, the playgrounds, homes, etc.

Re: Gaza Under attack

Spokesman Mark Regev told the BBC Israel would apologise if it discovered that its fire was responsible for the strike on the school.
"We have a policy - we don't target civilians," he said.

Yeah Right. Pathetic liars.

Re: Gaza Under attack

^ of course they don't target civilians, they are not lying... its just that they consider all Palestinians as terrorists/militants :(

US Confirms it Resupplied Israel with Weapons During Gaza Conflict

By Ewan Palmer
July 31, 2014 10:18

A huge fireball erupts following Israeli air strikes in the east of Gaza City(Reuters)

The US has confirmed it resupplied Israel with weapons and ammunition which could be used during the conflict in Gaza.

The news comes soon after the US condemned an attack on a United Nations (UN) school in Gaza inwhich at least 16 Palestinians were killed.

Since the 1990s, the US has kept a stockpile of arms inside Israel known as the War Reserves Stock Allies-Israel (WRSA-I), which Israel can use in emergencies.

On 20 July – 12 days after the Gaza strip conflict began - Israel made a request to withdraw 120mm mortar rounds and 40mm ammunition for grenade launchers, which was accepted by the US defence department three days later.

However, it is reported Israel did not cite an emergency as a reason for requesting the important supplies which was granted so the US could replenish its stock.

“They didn’t ask for it from there [WRSA-I] but we gave it to them so we could rotate our stocks,” an anonymous defence official told Reuters.

**Pentagon press secretary Rear Admiral Kirby confirmed the recent shipment of ammunition to Israel.
**
"The United States is committed to the security of Israel, and it is vital to US national interests to assist Israel to develop and maintain a strong and ready self-defence capability," he said.

“This defence sale is consistent with those objectives.”

He added: “Both munitions had been in WRSA-I stock for a few years, well before the current crisis.”

Kirby told how stocks which are kept in WRSA-I are “in excess to US requirements” as required by law and White House approval was not needed for the transaction as it was “strictly a sourcing decision”.

Israel’s embassy in Washington has declined to comment on whether the purchased weapons would be used in the current operation in Gaza.

The report of the weapons restock emerged as the White House condemned the shelling of a United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) school in which women, children and humanitarian workers were killed.

Bernadette Meehan, spokesperson for the White House’s National Security Council, said: "The United States condemns the shelling of a UNRWA school in Gaza, which reportedly killed and injured innocent Palestinians – including children – and UN humanitarian workers.

“We are extremely concerned that thousands of internally displaced Palestinians who have been called on by the Israeli military to evacuate their homes are not safe in UN designated shelters in Gaza.”

**Meehan did not directly accuse Israel of the attacks, suggesting there were conflicting reports about the incident.
**
However, UN secretary-general Ban Ki-moon said that “all available evidence” suggests that Israel was responsible for the “unjustifiable” attack.

The US has also criticised the stockpiling of weapons inside UN-run schools in Gaza, but officials have not confirmed whether rockets were inside the UNRWA school in Gaza.

“All of these actions, and similar ones earlier in the conflict, are inconsistent with the UN’s neutrality,” Meehan said. “This violence underscores the need to achieve a ceasefire as soon as possible.”

Israel, Hamas accept 72-hour truce to begin early Friday**

Gaza City (Palestinian Territories) (AFP) - Hopes of an end to the bloodshed in Gaza rose early Friday after US Secretary of State John Kerry announced that Israel and Hamas had agreed a 72-hour ceasefire.

Both sides swiftly confirmed that they agreed to the ceasefire, due to begin at 0500 GMT Friday, after 25 days of bloody confrontation.

Speaking in New Delhi, Kerry said after the ceasefire went into force, Israeli and Palestinian representatives, including from Hamas, would begin talks in Cairo in a move confirmed by Egypt.

But he said Israeli forces would remain inside Gaza.

The truce was a joint US-UN initiative and will give civilians “a much needed reprieve,” Kerry said.

“This is a respite, a moment of opportunity – not an end. It’s not a solution,” he warned, saying Israel would still be allowed to carry out “defensive” operations to destroy tunnels.

The proposal was accepted by Hamas, with a spokesman stressing it was dependent on Israel reciprocating.

At least a peaceful Friday for Palestinians.

Re: Gaza Under attack

Thank God - at least a 72 hr break. I hope they reach an agreement, and lives are spared. Inshallah.

:(

Just saw a group of dead crushed mutliated kids lined up on the hospital floor in shifa. Tauba.

Seeing all this makes me realize how retarded my problems are.

Re: Gaza Under attack

I suspect that Israel has lost more than the 61 soldiers that they have admitted to. 5 more Israeli soldiers are admitted to be killed yesterday and one was captured by the resistance and is in their custody.

Re: Gaza Under attack

So the ceasefire didn't last, over the capture of an Israeli soldier.

Hamas says they captured him before the ceasefire started. Israel and the USA says he was captured during the ceasefire.

Edit: Interestingly, the soldier they captured turns out to be a cousin of the Israeli defence minister. This just got personal for the Israeli government. This will probably push them to take a harder line and they can not be seen to be "soft" on Palestinians to save their own relatives.

Re: Gaza Under attack

They will take a hard line? as if indiscriminately bombing buildings and civilians wasn't taking a hardline before. Netanyahu has got himself into a ditch, getting out of which is proving too hard for him.

Re: Gaza Under attack

They are saying they wont consider ceasefire anymore. Poor gazans'lives keep becoming hell
