Walking away and moving to another territory is not a foreign concept to Islam. Rasulullah (saw) did just that - he translocated his entire group from makkah to medina.
Secondly, here’s another tidbit. Surah Baqra explicity talks about the changing of the Qibla. We muslims should not be regarding al aqsa as our qibla. No one should be praying towards it. It has a historical significance that is fine, but when people talk about how our qibla is being taken from us, they talk of ignorance. It’s not our qibla. Allah gave us another direction to pray, probably for this reason so we wouldn’t eventually clash with other groups that do regard jurusalem as their qibla.
I say if they want it, take it. Spare the precious lives instead.
