The reason there is a strong "jewish lobby" is that Jews are fully integrated into US society. They are doctors, lawyers, politicians businessmen, educators, scientists, media moguls, writers, movie stars, in short a cross section of America. Many are supporters of Israel, and they put their money forward, as well as their sweat to make sure the US is supportive of Israel, and that Americans are knowledgeable about Jewish history.

This is the basics of being a citizen in a representative democracy. The Jews are good at it, because they work hard at it. Rather than bemoan their success, Muslims should use it as a blueprint for their own influence in America. Unfortunately all you have now is the CAIR, which is a lame whiney ineffecive organization most famous for playing the victim.

I'd love to see a I'd love to see a Palestinian's political party who's platform is based on what you have above. One who's recognizes Israel's right to exist, is non-violent (truly non-violent), and who's main contention is the settlements. I'll tell you who wouldn't want to see this, extremist Israels and extremist Palestinians, as well as some foreign elements (ie; Iran).

If Palestinians want to shoot something that makes a difference they should be shooting with video cameras and then use those image shot to tell their side rather than making it part of a recruitment for violence video.

^Buddy, only british media and other media outlets tells Palestinians side of the story, u'll never see American media reporting about what Israel is doing...every civilian killed is the civilians fault not Israeli armies fault one bit...and any Palestinian news channel if their is one is probably seen as a terrorist network spreading propoganda. And no1 is listening to Palestinians, and its given the terrorists what they wanted, not to mention the killing of civilians and peoples families, they all want revenge, hell i would, and u would to. But the problem is that the conflict has taken a religious tone. Every Palestinian calls Israelis Jews. The Jews did this and the Jews did that. Its extremist Islamic groups who have taken this cloak of religious conflict and the Palestinians have followed them into it.

First of all, Arabs attack Israel in 1948 which just consisted of some coastal areas from Haifa to Tel Aviv. Israelis fight back and capture more land and the Palestinians flee. Israeli expansion only occured when Arabs tried to invade Israel and then lost the war as Israel captured more territory. The issue of settlements only occured when right wing Israelis were elected by the population because left wingers who wanted peace were consistently undercut by incessent arab attacks which meant that right wing ex-army people will run the country and protect Israel.

Regime Change?

Its not a dictatorship, its a democracy. And if by regime change you mean a much tolerant government. Well that will only happen if the Israeli public feels that peace the best option to deal with the palestinians rather than war. But when Hamas and Hezbollah continue to attack Israel, Israel will continue to elect right wing politicans whose only answer to the palestinian problem is war. So if the palestinians had any brains, they would make peace overtures to Israel, recognize Israel's right to exist, stop attacks on Israelis, put the onus on the Israelis and lets see Israeli public which by the latest poll 70% of them are willing to give up West Bank, and East Jerusalem for peace with the Palestinians.

The reason for the high Palestinian death toll is that Hamas operates from that dense area and people are bound to get killed when operations are conducted in Urban environment. The reason Israel feels threatened is because the only thing keeping Arabs and Muslims at bay is its powerful Army and strong backing by USA. If USA stops supporting Israel, Israel cannot maintain such a massive army and will have to make cut backs to support its Economy.

The reason being, Egypt and Jordan may have peace treaties with Israel but the populations dont. And if there is a coup, Israel could once again be attacked. And with people like Ahmedinijad who could be ready to sacrifice Iran to see Israel destroyed, Israel very much feels threatened.

Fearing Gaza could become a second strong military front as southern Lebanon became Israel is preparing to go in and takeout rocket hideouts and tunnles that have allowed large amounts of weapons to be smuggled in. Rocket fire from Gaza is a regular occurance as Israel response has been.

News flash. Israel abandoned all illegal settlements in Gaza last year. This is the thanks they get.

How many free rockets can the Indians launch at a Pakistani town before you would react? How many Pakistani townspeople can they kill without consequence? And if they have done it a thousand times with mild retaliation, when do you react more strongly.

If the roles were reversed, and the Palestinians were a dominant military force, how much mercy do you think would be shown? Let me go ask an Israeli Olympic athelete…

There are still upto 400,000 illegal Israeli settlers across the Palestinian territories of the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Only when these squatters leave, and the Israeli army totally vacates all occupied lands, and the Palestinian refugees are allowed to return to Palestine will Israel see any peace.

Until then Hamas and the other Palestinian groups should continue legitimate resistance against the Israeli occupiers. After all no country in the world can accept being militarily occupied by another as Israel is occupying the Palestinian territories, nor can it accept hundreds of thousands of illegal settlers from the invading power to setup home on it’s lands.
