Gaza militant dies in air strike

**An Israeli air strike has killed one and injured three in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip, Palestinian medics said.**Israel’s military confirmed the attack was made near the central Gaza Strip town of Khan Younis.

Reports suggest the person killed was a member of a Palestinian militant group.

One of those injured is reported to be in a critical condition in hospital, according to the head of Gaza’s emergency services.

The death was the first of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict this year.

Air strikes and instances of rocket fire across the border have decreased since Israeli forces launched a large-scale offensive in Gaza at the end of 2008.

Israel killed six militants in two separate incidents in Gaza and the occupied West Bank late in December 2009.
