Gay Pakistanis

Re: Gay Pakistanis

So keeping the story of Prophet Lut (as) in mind, scholars would condemn homosexuality as being the cause of the azaab that was experienced by the com of Lut and that they were showered with rocks and stones from the skies and their remains are now below the Dead Sea. So, there will be no room for any compromise here. That is the very reason why Islamic societies hush up this subject which is indeed spreading. Yes I agree it should be dealth with, but how?

Re: Gay Pakistanis

Prophet Lut (a.s.) realized the problem, and encouraged his people not to harrass others, instead marry girls to fulfill the desires. When Gabriel came to him along with others in the form of men, and his people found out, they came to harrass them, and if i recall correctly Lut (a.s.) told them that he'll marry them with his daughters instead, only if they leave the honorable guests alone.

The punishment was a collective result of their behavior overtime, because Lord Almighty gives us all chances to correct ourselves.

Yes times have changed, but the principle remains. We need to look at the core cause of this. Why does it happen? Why has it been happening in a society that is conservative and Islamic by nature.

There's no 1 perfect solution, atleast not that i can think of. But i'm sure if we all put our heads together, something could come up.

Re: Gay Pakistanis

Yeah. These are hard times.

its just not the problem of Islamic world. it is actually the problem of non-islamic society.
honestly, calling a society an Islamic one does'nt make it one.

solution does exist but what it requires is an implementation.

ps. there is no chance given to who commits adultery, or is there?

Re: Gay Pakistanis

In Islam, is there a prescribed punishment for homosexuality as there is for adultery and robbery and murder?

Re: Gay Pakistanis

yeh im curious about what niksik asked. especially homosexuality that does not involve sodomy, and also lesbians.

Re: Gay Pakistanis

I have been trying to find where it says in the Quran (in regards to punishment). But i am confused.

A few sites have pointed that Surah 4:15-17 indicates what the punishment is for two men committing adultery.. but in another site i have read it doesnt specifically talk about two men, but just anyone

[4:16] The couple who commits adultery shall be punished. If they repent and reform, you shall leave them alone. GOD is Redeemer, Most Merciful.

Re: Gay Pakistanis

here's what I don't get:

No one really knows why homosexuality exists. Some claim it's a mental disorder; while others claim they were born that way...some psychologists say that it's because of a gender preference that is formed when one is too young to remember the event that caused them to have that preference.

So because of any such reason a person is homosexual- are they then sinning for being in that state; or would they sin only if they acted on their desire?

after all, if a person is irrevocably in a state where they cannot be attracted to a woman; are they sinning for just having those desires? Don't we think of things on a daily basis that would be 'haram' if actually acted upon those thoughts?

and then, if the sin is only in the act; then I disagree with the belief and fear that this is an epidemic that is 'spreading.' What is spreading is not the state of homosexuality; but the frequency upon which people act on these desires.

just my two cents

Re: Gay Pakistanis

^ a few months ago someone else opened a great thread on homosexulaity.. and they answered the question you're asking... that its the action that is a sin and not actually feeling it.

So if a person doesnt act upon their desires.. all is fine. I believe

Off-topic, can anyone recommend where I can get a collection of the hadiths transalated into english?

Re: Gay Pakistanis

stupid loser

Re: Gay Pakistanis

and exactly who are you referring to?

Niksik! i 100% agree with u bcoz look at other aqwaam before Islam that there was a azaab given to them by Allah almighty for gayism. as u will know when u will see the Islamic history and the other mazaahibs before Islam of Allah!

:)

so, all thez are the signs of qayamah! nothing else.

and yes mercenary2k! have a go and take another drone from america and destroy those Pakistani gays also like as u earlier said that many millions of Pakistanis must have to be eliminated according to you.

Anyhow! you just keep focusing on such issues.

it's ur own thought. all this is the sign of QAYAMAH!

:(

Homosexuality if forbidden, so its same as adultery.

Re: Gay Pakistanis

Its very troubling to know that a man will like to be drilled!

Re: Gay Pakistanis

No matter how much I pretend to be accepting and open minded, I just cant stand gay men, they utterly disgust me. I know I didnt say gay women, not saying that either :hehe:

Re: Gay Pakistanis

I still can't ge over the fact that my uni used to have the 'islamic gay society' - which was very disturbing! Heard they have one in Leeds now too!

There's no punishment on a person just for being homosexual, it's only when they act on it that it becomes punishable. I read somewhere that there's a great reward for men (and women) who don't act on feelings they might have for their own sex.

Re: Gay Pakistanis

Just a question to the guys here...
If you were in a position of power in whichever country you currently reside, would you agree to give gays equal rights or allow gay marriages..

If not why..

Let us not bring religion into the discussion. I agree that religion says it is wrong but from any other perspective why would you discriminate against them.

Re: Gay Pakistanis

I wonder what happens to all those gay Muslim men who have tried and tried but just can't feel any physical attraction to a woman at all. I know people say they should just get married but if he can't make himself attracted to her what is the point? I mean isn't it going to mess up the woman's life as well? I have heard of a desi guy who is gay and he and his wife have an 'open' marriage which just seems bizarre to me. None of their families know. Surely, that is going to end up in more of a mess than if he had just not gotten married? I mean what happens if their future kids find out Dad is not their real Dad and their parent's marriage is just one huge sham?

Me personally if I had the power, I'd prob allow some sort of civil union but not call it marriage.

Re: Gay Pakistanis

But see, how can you talk about laws in an Islamic country without bringing Islam? I know most laws in Pakistan revolve around the shariah. Whether they are implemented or followed is another issue.
