Whilst there are a few things I could learn from you two, wisdom would never make that list..
Re: Gay/Lesbian marriages!
Two Pakistani born women got married to each other in UK.
Views please?
Is this actually true? Haven't heard of such a story if it is recent.
Re: Gay/Lesbian marriages!
They must be really ugly. Lesbians in real life are not the ones you guys see in movies. I imagine two not very good looking ladies, rejected by men for having more facial hair then they do.

Really?
Also, did the article mention their faith? Or are we assuming they are Muslim to judge their sexual orientation? Doesn't the white bits in the Pakistani flag represent people of other faiths/beliefs? Becuase if that was to be true then it's a case of if they are NOT Muslim we need to just let them get on with it.

Blame Baroness Nina Warsi for favouring such rights!

Way ugly chicks get married in Pakistan. They're normal looking females.
Re: Gay/Lesbian marriages!
who wore the lehnga?
Same question here. But what about their families? Weddings of Pakistani (wherever they are) people tend to involve a lot of family and friends. Did they cut ties with their families? Were they Atheists? A lot of questions need to be answered before I give this topic much thought.
Re: Gay/Lesbian marriages!
I looked it up on the internet and there is some information about it. They were both Muslims one from Lahore (PHD) and other was from Azad Kashmir. Now I don't want to be racist on anything but having enough experience with Kashmiris I can assume that a British passport was involved somewhere. Again these are just my thoughts.

That would be assuming that the Lahori has a British passport though?
But I see your point.
However....there are some desperados by neck of the woods in Punjab.
Re: Gay/Lesbian marriages!
Thank you for your views and to conclude this let me tell you that I was part of this celebration. I accepted the invitation mainly for two reasons:
1. I had been to a gay marriage and found it to be very informative. The two guys, one from Mexico and the other from Korea were, to my visible eye, in true love (I say this with confidence after a very careful observation of the couple in repeated meetings with them). My subsequent talks with them to understand their views made me realize that its a 'condition' much similar to normal love between the opposite gender. I am not going into more details for obvious reasons!
2. I wanted to see if the feelings are same amongst the lesbians? Except that the bride here was too excited to talk to me and hugged me in her excitement which did not invite the jealousy of her groom, I have found this phenomenon to be very interesting. More interesting is the observation that their aversion for the opposite gender for romance or sex exactly resembles our aversion to seek the same from the same sex!
I am not judging anyone on any parameter, be it religious, social or ethnic.

Man I shudder to think what took place later on that night after the 2 gay guys' wedding. Excuse me as I puke. As for what happens with lesbians, hey what's the worse that can happen? Now imagine you are at that gathering, and there is a fire or other catastrophe like an earthquake and you die. What kind of a gathering will your soul be collected from? Would you like the angles to come and take you to meet allah from this setting? If you don't mind, then by all means attend all the homo weddings you can.

That's between me and my God. You are no one to interfere. I am a researcher hence I was there. I do not mind if you puke, I would if you judge me.
Re: Gay/Lesbian marriages!
If they were Muslim as according to findings of other posters here, what exactly do they gain by having a so called marriage? Some type of benefit from the state?

^ This. I have friends/acquintances who are gay/lesbian. In fact, my personal trainer is a gay man who lives with his partner of 17 years. I have also attended same sex weddings/commitment ceremonies. I have more respect for them compared to "religious" people who're heavily involved in the rituals of the specific religion....yet have no problem lying, cheating, and doing other things that actually cause harm to others.
I treat people the way I want them to treat me. I don't like the idea of others judging me b/c of who I chose as my life partner. Thus I don't judge someone else b/c they chose someone of the same sex.
Oh....I wanted to add, whether its straight or homosexual, I don't have any interest in trying to imagine other people's s*x life. I don't understand when people bring this up. A relationship/marriage between a man and a woman involves A LOT more than just s*x. So when 2 men or 2 women choose to get married and spend 10/20/30 years of their lives together......it involves a lot more than lust. We're not talking about 2 random people hooking up at a club (which btw is done by straight AND homosexual people).

Dunno about the UK but in the U.S., yes.....being legally married entitles people to specific legal rights that they would not have otherwise. Things related to estate planning, employment/government benefits, being able to act as a decision maker in the event of a medical emergency etc.
Re: Gay/Lesbian marriages!
homophobic and proud, these people are destroying the fabric of our society, to all those who condone it, be careful what u find acceptable u will change ur tune very quickly if its ur own child or family member. Sickening
Re: Gay/Lesbian marriages!
if my daughter or son is gay, I wouldn't disown them though. Plus I know a woman that married a man that was gay, he destroyed her life because as much as we try to force them to be straight and marry a straight person sooner or later the gay will shine through. The couple never had a normal straight marriage where there was any sex and he used to take his frustrations out on her, he pretended but it's like forcing a straight person to be attracted to someone of the same gender.
