Gay/lesbian friends

Re: Gay/lesbian friends

Gunah e Kabeera and Sagheera are separate things. Comparing lie/corruption/drinking with homosexuality is a complete nonsense.

Can you compare committing shirk with a theft?!?!

Re: Gay/lesbian friends

Any religion - be it Islam Hinduism Christianity Buddhism - that teaches intolerance to a fellow human being, needs to be reformed. And it will be. Sooner than we think.

Doesn’t matter if such teachings are in the Gita, Bible or Quran. Wrong is wrong. Doesn’t matter if Ram or Allah says so. Wrong is wrong.

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you - said a great man.

Re: Gay/lesbian friends

A sin is a sin…the one who has deemed it a sin is the only one who will judge what is more or less of a sin. If people start believing they’re above God, that’s complete nonsense in reality. If people lie and steal and cheat and then point fingers at others for their sins - they are called hypocrites. I don’t call them that - that is what a hypocrite really is. Islam considers homosexuality wrong - absolutely. I am not saying anything against that. However, I am against mere mortals and human beings - imperfect creatures by definition - thinking its okay to call someone else a sinner when they are also sinners.

Re: Gay/lesbian friends

According to my very limited knowledge about Islam..it’s not about correcting yourself only but to guide /advice others (privately) if you find them committing sin.

I don’t know why but I will not stand a second and let someone kill someone …just because I lie a lot

Re: Gay/lesbian friends

Clear case of why Religion at times is the cause of evil. The evil being disrespectful and insensitive to fellow human beings.

And i am pretty sure that great man was not a gay right?

Re: Gay/lesbian friends

But what to do when someone change his stance abruptly :stuck_out_tongue:

Re: Gay/lesbian friends

That is called dodging and ducking the question. :hehe:

Re: Gay/lesbian friends

Ninja my friend. Just for a second assume that instead of that man, a different person, who is near and dear to most people here was referenced as a great person. Would you have still asked the same question? And a religious person has liked your question. Would that person still have liked your question.

Unless I missed something - and I sincerely hope I have missed something here - I cant but shake my head in disbelief.

As Jesus did say - do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Re: Gay/lesbian friends

Southie: It is true that the great man was not gay and his teachings were against gays.

Re: Gay/lesbian friends

OK. At least now I got the question. Thanks Mr. D.

Re: Gay/lesbian friends

Once again, this reinforces the notion that men who are great for their time can be wrong. Any person whose “teachings were against gays” did not know any better. But we do now. One should have the wisdom to shun teachings that are immoral. And being cruel to fellow human being is.

Those who blindly follow a book - any book - are misguided. If the Gita has something questionable, reasonable followeres of that religion should question that part. Ditto any other book.

Re: Gay/lesbian friends

Dont worry we all muslims respect Jesus(Isa Alehi Salam)…

Re: Gay/lesbian friends

well jesus never married. was he gay? there is no proof he was otherwise.

not that there is much proof of the actual existence of jesus the way christians and muslims seem to believe in him.. but that is another thread.

Re: Gay/lesbian friends

So you’re comparing homosexuality with murder now? Homosexuality is a personal - doesn’t hurt anyone and you don’t bleed or die because your neighbor is homosexual.

Re: Gay/lesbian friends

Insulting any deity or God figure is absolutely wrong.
