I don't think this is inconsistant with faith to find comfort in a faith, even if that faith condems their particular situation.
Let me put in simple question. If God hates gays so much than why did he made gay people? And, don't tell me that this is a test or challenge b/c most religious people do not believe in homosexuality...so there is no question of this being a test. Blindness or other physical disabilities can be consider test, but not homosexuality (from religious pov) b/c God hate gays, but he doesn't hate blind. See the diff.?
