Will Pakistan / India sports board or public accept a player who comes out and says he is “Gay”. Will he be part of the cricket team, if a cricketer comes out?
His sports performance is good.
Most Athletes who are gay prefer to stay in closet for fear of being fired from the team.
Gay Athletes - Would they be accepted in Pakistan/India?

Re: Gay Athletes - Would they be accepted in Pakistan/India?
My guesstimate answer is "NO" because of very strong social/religious pressure. It'll take atleast 10-20 years to even start talking about it in India or Pak.
Ofcourse aus/eng is different.
I know you are coming from today's acknowledgement of Jason Collins, NBA star but you know how different it is. It took many many years after first basketball player finally accepted it.
Btw, I'm really surprised of the huge support he's getting from all over especially from within fellow athletes.
Re: Gay Athletes - Would they be accepted in Pakistan/India?
If you are gay, be as gay you like. There's no need to come out and tell the world. Just like a heterosexual doesn't need to tell the world about his sexual orientation.
Re: Gay Athletes - Would they be accepted in Pakistan/India?
Yes if some one has STRONG sexual challenges then they need to curb them within themselves and they don't need to make it a headline story. Seek psychological help etc.
Morality is the only way out.

Thats soo funny, I guess the original poster must have got his answer that we desis normally treat this as a "moral" issue or a psychological sickness :)
So we want these folks to hide, keep to themselves , by hypocrite rather than coming out and telling the truth of wutever the choice they've made lol.
