Even phyciatry is not absolute and we are now using DSM fourth criteria of diagnosing mental disease.
Nothing is a absolute. No religion, not science, not pyschiatric studies. Man continually redefines these things through research, education and experiences.

Slavery, murder of apostates and killing in the name of God have all been accepted over centuries and entire territories of the world. It doesn't mean those views weren't wrong.
