Gavaskar pinpoints flaw in Tendulkar's batting

check out the following:
http://sports.yahoo.com/m/sk/news/reuters/20020506/reu-indiatendulkar.html

Gavaskar thinks Tendulkar is playing across the line too much and therefore falling lbw. What do guppies think?

Well, Sunny May be right, because he has been watching him play all along. It has happened to many players in the past. I remember during 90s Azhar was having horrible run with the bat and during the Tour of Pakistan he seeked help from Zaheer Abbas and after Zaheer Abbas helped him, Azhar was back among runs.

If there is a flaw, I wish and hope Sunny and other experts help him correct it.

Yeah its a sign of a pressure...Batsmen tend to play across the line more often beginning of their innings but they dont realize that its the timing they need to develop before playing across the line. Its a very risky shot especially against the fast bowling.

Ijaz Ahmed used to be like that, he always had been a nervous starter and got out numerous times earlier in the innings by LBW

Everyone has been waiting to find a chance to criticize Sachin. Someone thinks he has got a technical flaw (Pray tell me which batsman in the world past or present didn't or doesn't have one), someone thinks that suddenly he is prone to LBWs and god knows what else.

But at the same time World's second best batsman Brian Lara has failed miserably in last 3 tests, but everyone seems to be okay with it. It's only Tendulkar, who has a problem when out of the last four times he was out - two were poor decisions and he was not out or close to being not out.

The higher up you are the more you are in the spotlight.

What are you talking about?
The last time I checked Matthew Hayden played for Australia not Pakistan, so there is no me and you involved.

It's not my choice. It is the Stats. Please dont pick and choose them according to your preference. Hayden had a wonderful year but he is not a better batsman than Lara.

I stll cant understand why Lara is at number 2, taking into account his recent performances, he certainly does not deserve to be in the top 3

Probably, they grant more points for away performances and in last 10-15 test matches, Lara's away performance has been very good and his avg is almost 60+. Even in this series he has scored 2 half centuries.
