Gas Loading Shedding in Punjab

Re: Gas Loading Shedding in Punjab

So you mean because of the Industries of Northern Punjab ( a feudal free area, hence more developed) shall be the cause of another mishap in Pakistan???

or do you want to say that the govt should put up gas for the cities where the consumption is really really low and should not provide it to the industrial sector which is going to produce the foreign exchange for Pakistan???

Re: Gas Loading Shedding in Punjab

We wanted to see all Pakistan developed
to avoid any mishap.

Re: Gas Loading Shedding in Punjab

Factly it is not possible, not in Pakistan not in any country of the world.. there are regions in USA which are under developed and then there are villages in Saudi Arabia where people do not have access to Electricity... not every city can be converted into industrial hub....

it is duty of the govt. to provide basic facilities to the regions, ppp's main votebank is the under developed region, which are mostly under the control of Sardar or Wadera.. may i ask what govt have done to develop the infrastructure of these areas???? i know you do no understand any such question and you may regard it as a conspiracy of agencies or army against the govt....

Re: Gas Loading Shedding in Punjab

What a reply
Justifying all dishonesty to the smaller provinces.
There was nothing in North Punjab in 1947
Used sources of all provinces including East Pakistan
and now not ready to give the basic rights to the people

Great tragedy

Re: Gas Loading Shedding in Punjab

There were 3 CNG filling stations in Quetta in 2008 compared to thousands in Lahore and Karachi. With most of Baluchistan without gas connections, clean water and electricity, we cry about load shedding in Punjab. Ironic.

The town of Sui, located near that gas field that provides a huge chunk of our natural gas supply, was deprived of a natural gas connection for decades. Why do we expect the industries of Punjab to flourish at the expense of Baluchis?

Don't give me that same old story about tribal chiefs of Baluchistan hindering development there. When it comes to resource exploitation, we "establish government's writ" there and when it comes to responsibility, we shift it to the tribal chiefs with whom we sometimes negotiate through barrels of guns.

Re: Gas Loading Shedding in Punjab

^^ Do you know anything about BOLAN Projects!!! < as far as i know it failed because of our beloved tribal sardars> google about it...

Re: Gas Loading Shedding in Punjab

^ Get out of the cyber world for a while and go and take a look into the province. Go to Gwadar, if other areas are inaccessible. Pearl Continental hotel used by our elite from Sindh and Punjab towers above the utter poverty of town below. If we could go in and develop 'housing schemes' there with most of the plots purchased by non-Baluchis, we can do some development work for the locals as well. Who stopped provision of natural gas to Sui town for decades? Sardars? You are mistaken.

If we cannot do anything, then declare Baluchistan independent state with the 'Sardars' ruling over their princely states and give up our right to use natural resources in the province. If we do have any 'write of the government' in Baluchistan, we should be responsible and not make excuses like the tribal leaders hindering development there. If we can go in and murder them, we can go in and negotiate development with them as well.

Re: Gas Loading Shedding in Punjab

Back to the topic... there are few countries in the world which provide natural gas to homes through pipelines like we do. We stole that gas, we wasted it a lot, we subsidized it heavily, we had it really cheap for years without much concentration on developing more gas fields. We did not create trust in Baluchistan for natural gas exploration and development. We should take responsibility for our own failings.

Re: Gas Loading Shedding in Punjab

^^ I have been to Balochistan, Specially to Quette, Taftan, Pasni and Gawadar... and i do not visit places for pleasure only business is what makes me move from place to place and regret to say that every time visit their, i feel more depressed over the state of life people have and the difference between them and the lord of the area/tribe... every time when projects are proposed these sardars are out there demanding a healthy stake (against nothing) or just threaten the investors away...

on the tours i was able to raise over a USD 200 million for projects in then NWFP... and currently i am working on to get initiate some projects in GB and AJK along with projects in Northern Punjab ( in southern punjab situation is equally similar but still not good enough to get some good projects going for somebody like me who is not from the region...)

and if a common individual like me have made efforts then i am sure many others from and out of Pakistan might have made harder effort to do something there, many NGOs installing schools and getting their teachers shot-dead as well mainly because they are from a province which is little more developed and they are here to provide education for free to the younger generation....

This killings is not something started now.. it has been there for a while... many traders i personally know preferred to take different route ( if available) back in 90s as well...

yes i agree govt have neglected the region but tell me which regions govt have focus on... how many new cities ( apart from ISB) govt have built since independence.... the development seen in Karachi and Lahore region mainly because of the availability of infrastructure ( most of what built by English) and people themselves...
In other developed parts of Punjab like , Faisalabad, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Gujrat and Jehlum... either there are people who have started small industries and have converted them into bigger ones or one member of the household is abroad, providing a handsome lifestyle to the one living here!!!

like Balochies, majority from the rural areas of Punjab ( mentioned above) cannot read or write or are not classified as skilled labor, but still they go out of country do whatever they can and provide themselves with comparatively better lifestyle!!! and today they are known as OVERSEAS Pakistanies...

Now back to Balochistan and other underdeveloped areas such as Interior Sindh and Southern Punjab and areas of KP..... they all have one common thing... Feudal and Tribal system...

6 or 7 PMs Pakistan has seen from these areas... none have done anything for it... so far we have two or three parties evolved or roots in developed areas, MQM, PMLN, and to some extent IK's PTI other than this almost all parties are either headed by Feudal lords or Tribal chief and none of the two try to look into the misery of the man... for them they do not exist... or only exist to vote them and serve them...

Negotiating comes when other side is ready to talk.. let see if the both sides i.e. PPP led Govt and Baloch are ready to talk... so far PPP govt have only announced packages and promises delivered nothing

Re: Gas Loading Shedding in Punjab

I see, that's your whole point.

Who needs India or America when we have people within our country happy at other part of the countrymen suffering.
Rather than giving everyone their right, best solution is to actuall deprive the ones who have SOME rights.

Re: Gas Loading Shedding in Punjab

What the people we are ?
When it comes to the right of people
We have complainant against Sardars and lords.
My dear scholar
Do you know that the budget of Pakistan's biggest province is less than a small city Islamabad .
What the lords can do of this ?

Re: Gas Loading Shedding in Punjab

That is a very sad story of Pakistan.
