Re: Gas Loading Shedding in Punjab
^^ I have been to Balochistan, Specially to Quette, Taftan, Pasni and Gawadar... and i do not visit places for pleasure only business is what makes me move from place to place and regret to say that every time visit their, i feel more depressed over the state of life people have and the difference between them and the lord of the area/tribe... every time when projects are proposed these sardars are out there demanding a healthy stake (against nothing) or just threaten the investors away...
on the tours i was able to raise over a USD 200 million for projects in then NWFP... and currently i am working on to get initiate some projects in GB and AJK along with projects in Northern Punjab ( in southern punjab situation is equally similar but still not good enough to get some good projects going for somebody like me who is not from the region...)
and if a common individual like me have made efforts then i am sure many others from and out of Pakistan might have made harder effort to do something there, many NGOs installing schools and getting their teachers shot-dead as well mainly because they are from a province which is little more developed and they are here to provide education for free to the younger generation....
This killings is not something started now.. it has been there for a while... many traders i personally know preferred to take different route ( if available) back in 90s as well...
yes i agree govt have neglected the region but tell me which regions govt have focus on... how many new cities ( apart from ISB) govt have built since independence.... the development seen in Karachi and Lahore region mainly because of the availability of infrastructure ( most of what built by English) and people themselves...
In other developed parts of Punjab like , Faisalabad, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Gujrat and Jehlum... either there are people who have started small industries and have converted them into bigger ones or one member of the household is abroad, providing a handsome lifestyle to the one living here!!!
like Balochies, majority from the rural areas of Punjab ( mentioned above) cannot read or write or are not classified as skilled labor, but still they go out of country do whatever they can and provide themselves with comparatively better lifestyle!!! and today they are known as OVERSEAS Pakistanies...
Now back to Balochistan and other underdeveloped areas such as Interior Sindh and Southern Punjab and areas of KP..... they all have one common thing... Feudal and Tribal system...
6 or 7 PMs Pakistan has seen from these areas... none have done anything for it... so far we have two or three parties evolved or roots in developed areas, MQM, PMLN, and to some extent IK's PTI other than this almost all parties are either headed by Feudal lords or Tribal chief and none of the two try to look into the misery of the man... for them they do not exist... or only exist to vote them and serve them...
Negotiating comes when other side is ready to talk.. let see if the both sides i.e. PPP led Govt and Baloch are ready to talk... so far PPP govt have only announced packages and promises delivered nothing
