Gary Faulkner is a free man now

So this American, Gary Faulkner who was captured by Pakistani forces near Pak/Afghan border because he was armed with pistol and sword and was on a mission to kill Osama Bin Laden, is released by Pakistani govt on humanitarian grounds as he is sick and require kidney dialysis.

If a Pakistani was caught near Canada/USA border and was armed with a gun and was on a mission to kill ..errr I don’t know .. any tom dick or harry, would he be released on humanitarian grounds because he was sick.

Food for thought I guess.

Re: Gary Faulkner is a free man now

He's a sick guy, both mentally and physically. Good think pakis released him. What would they have done by keeping him. Better, they save the tiny ego for some other time.

Re: Gary Faulkner is a free man now

However, he must be blacklisted and prevented from ever entering Pakistan again.

A mentally disturbed individual like that could have posed a threat to innocent Pakistani civilians, should he have thought them to be hostile for whatever reason.

Personally, I think he was let off slightly too lightly. Pakistan should have had the US agree to subject him to a second psychiactric examination in the USA prior to releasing him there.
