Garlic and High Blood Pressure

Garlic is a very popular natural treatment for high blood pressure. It
appears from a 2005 study that using fresh garlic in your diet may be
more effective than using supplemental forms.

Allicin, the active ingredient in garlic . . .is destroyed within
one hour of smashing the garlic. This means that garlic pills are
virtually worthless and should not be used.

Instead, when you use the garlic, compress it with a spoon prior to
swallowing it, or put it through your juicer to add to vegetable
juice. Just be careful not to put too much as raw garlic has a
powerful flavor and can cause some unpleasant surprises.

Re: Garlic and High Blood Pressure

My dad has been eating garlic, rather swallowing garlic every morning for many years. He being a heart patient with many sugeries and treatments, is still healthy masha'Allah and active, and feels very confident that garlic has protected him well.

Re: Garlic and High Blood Pressure

^ that's true, My father is also taking garlic every morning with the same method (in my first post) and he says it works like a wonder his blood pressure is now normal MashAllah. Many people take pills but I would not suggest them to have pills because they are not beneficial much as the raw garlic.

Re: Garlic and High Blood Pressure

my mother eats garlic for blood pressure. It sky rocketed at one point and when she started taking garlic it went down significantly.

Re: Garlic and High Blood Pressure

WARNING - If taking Blood Pressure pills, be very careful about taking garlic. The reason being that garlic can affect the efficiency of the medicine and may stop it from working properly. Similar problems can occur if consuming orange juice, grapefruit juice, lemon juice and apple juice to a lesser extent.

Re: Garlic and High Blood Pressure

Garlic works inside the body by promoting the ability of white blood cells to fight infections, and by stimulating other immune cells like macrophages and T-cells which fight viral and bacterial infections, as well as cancer cells. Therefore garlic is an extremely good thing to have around!
