chaye "garam" nahin hoti....
oh... sachi .... thanks .. :-)
well as far as i know (and i don't know that much about it) GARAM or DHANDHA means the amount of energy (e. g. in KJ) which is exploited by consuming these things (e. g. for heating up the body when it's cold or vice versa) .... the GARAM ones have very much of energy and the DHANDHA one less energy ....
wow ... thats new .... thanks for the input Zero_one .... :-)
chai...ya ke Starbucks ki coffee? :)
Its a old term when people didn't know what is, cafine or colestrole etc etc ... the effect of these things was termed as "Garam hota/hoti hay".
Now its been proved by Science that these things contain elements not very good for human bodies .... & people are told not to use them in accessive amounts.
In old days hakeem were telling people dont use much because "Garam hotee hay" ...... Now Doctors day dont eat too much eggs they contain accessive amount of Colestrole & Protein ...
Hakeem didn't know what colestrole was .. but now with the improvement of technology Doctors do ..... but Hakim did know the effects so he termed it as "Garam hoti/hota hay".

I am sure others have explained it better, but the "garam" and "thanda" has nothing to do with physically hot cup of tea or coffee. For example, mangoes are considered "garam" and pumpkin is considered "thanda". It refers to the taseer of these edibles. Case in point, that if you are susceptable to get acne pimples and you eat a lot of mangoes, likely your face will bloat up. Similar with meat dishes. Eating pumpkin (kaddu) on the other hand is considered to give a soothing effect to the body and circulation.
garam means that partiucular edible can cause gar bar in your pait or some other problem. For example I can not eat achaar ,no matter how much i like it,it causes acne on my face and that is how it is garam for me !!
ohh … learn a lot … thanks for the input Faisal and kashish … ![]()
