So anyone know anything about these? What’s the better quality kind? Which ones are better to purchase? Wood? Metal? We need to replace ours and I am confused!

We have wood and never had any problems with it and actually all the people I know have wood garage doors.

I Have the metal one..b4 we had that wood one..that was quite old ,,got damaged,,now the new one is preety good,,i think go for metal one.. longggg lasting,,

wood looks nice, is more expensive and takes more effort to maintain especially if there are weather extremes.

insulated steel panel garage doors are good and secure and can be custom ordered or purchased with color, window treatment on the borders and wood grain patterns finish.

I have em insulated steel garage doors and they are supposed to be better for the climate..or so they say but one of my buddies has mahogany garage doors...and they look frikkin awesome

I also have to wait for the stupid homeowners to decide if we're allowed to move into the 21st century.

Make sure you get one with a keypad outside that allows you to punch in your code to open the door. Its a godsend for times when you dont have the garage door opener and your house keys on you. Especially helpful when you're locked outside.

cheegum u leave you entry door from garage ulocked? or u have one of em keypad ones for inside entry as well?

No that one doesnt have a key but its one of those doors that has a tiny lock that can be locked from inside (kinda like how you have in bathrooms). That knob is usually in the unlocked position but theres been times when someone turned it to lock position, i happen to run out to get something from the garage and the door locks behind me :mad:
