Re: Ganguly the Allrounder
Well what an irony, when ganguly got selected for England tour in 1996, he didn't deserve it and everyone knew he got in because of parchi. But to give credit to the guy, he took his chances with both hands and ended up being most succesful indian captain. Now, life has come full circle for Ganguly and he gets into the side again when he didn't deserve to.It remains to be seen what his response will be this time.
Personally I would like to see him go out on a high note with his head held high. The guy has done so much for Indian cricket that he deserves a decent farewell.I admit he doesn't fit into the scheme of things for future but as Kapil Dev said, everyone hates to see a proud guy like him reduced to a wreck begging for a place in the team.He is the guy who turned a bunch of losers and chokers into a self-believing fighting unit.for that contribution alone he should go down in history as the best indian captain "till date"(I hope Dravid surpasses him). What I would love to see is Ganguly scoring lot of runs and then quitting.this way he would redeem his pride and make way for the youngsters, and will be remembered in history for all his positives.
