Sourav Ganguly has been fined his match fee because of India’s slow over-rate against Pakistan on Saturday, according to a team official.
“We have learnt he has been fined his full match fee,” an Indian cricket official said.
However, a formal announcement has not yet been made by the ICC.
Ganguly was summoned by match referee Chris Broad after India took almost 30 minutes more than the allotted time to complete their 50 overs. Pakistan compiled 319 for nine in their innings, before going on to claim a 106-run victory that reduced India’s lead in the six-match series to 2-1. Last November, Ganguly was handed a two-test ban for his team’s slow over-rate during a one-day defeat to Pakistan in Calcutta, but successfully appealed to the ICC.
Tendulkar's over was like Shoaib Akhtar is bowling. The only difference was that Tendi was taking so long to setup field for right-left combination of Salman and Malik since they were rotating strike on every ball, also that he is too picky on field placements, where as Shoaib will make faces and gestures to catch the attention of all the camera's in the ground while walking to his runup.
For a moment, I was worried that they may suspend him for a match or something. That would be so unfair to Pakistan. I bet Inzi and Woolmer privately requested Broad not to suspend Mr Ganguly. Pakistan wants Ganguly to play. Yes baby!!!
Thank God Gangualy is not banned but only fined :D But I think Gangualy was trying to get himself banned cuz of the slow over rate...too bad it didnt work :P
Thank You Sir Jee…I was about to say that…I don’t know how many of you have seen Ganguly in his prime but trust me, he was SPECIAL…22 one day centuries and 59 fifties is not a joke…he has already scored 3 centuries on this ground …This man can literally cut you in pieces if he finds his touch….We are already having tough time beating India with only dravid, sehwag and Dhonie in form….. So be humble and give Ganguly some respect and just pray Allah that he does not return to his form in this series. Indian batting is simply “THE BEST” in the world and lets pray Allah for the best.

GAnguly is a good player with some great early debut tanure performances.
Your are being little overdiscriptive about his batting and the ‘Best’ in the world lable. At times he was more a productive bowler than a batsman. :elmo:
