Raj Singh Dungarpur, who has been appointed as the manager of the Indian team for the upcoming Pakistan tour, starting next month, said that Sourav Ganguly is putting pressure on himself by asking the Board of Control for Cricket in India to include him for the Pakistan tour.
Ganguly was dropped from the Indian squad for the third Test against Sri Lanka in Ahmedabad despite decent performance in the Delhi Test. There was furore against the decision of the selectors in West Bengal with the speaker of Lok Sabha, Somnath Chatterjee and several other members of the house expressing concern at the manner in which former Indian captain was treated.
"If I were in Ganguly's place I would wait and play in the Ranji trophy matches and gain confidence and stake claim for India England series at home in 2006. By insisting on being included in the Indian side, which is doing so well, Ganguly is putting additional pressure on himself. He will be canon fodder for bowlers like Shoaib Akhtar. Ganguly is not happy facing fast bowling, particularly in the ribcage area," he told rediff.com.
Dungarpur said that it was for the selectors to announce the team and the matter should be left to them.
"What if he is included and not picked in the playing eleven in Pakistan or he fails miserably. In that event his career would be over," he added.
But some members of parliament who had raised the issue of dropping Ganguly felt that former Indian captain has good chance of going to Pakistan particularly after his meeting with Sharad Pawar, the BCCI president.
"In that case God alone can help the Indian cricket," Dungarpur said.

The latest and stupidest reason given by Kiran More on Ganguly's inclusion is 'experience against Pakistan" EXCUSE ME! but Ganguly averages a paltry 27 in the seven matches he has played.

It's interesting to note that when I thought of the title for this thread I only had a tongue in cheek idea to make it sound like Ganguly is a failure and we are trying to revive him. Ironically enough, the subsequent out cry from Indian public and the issue being discussed in the parliament did give it a political twist and now the title for this thread seems more so ever appropriate. Kiran More is upset at Ganguly missing a Ranji Trophymatch after being selected for Pak series. Kiran is making a big fuss in the media about this and is asking BCCI to probe Ganguly. It goes to show that Kiran was FORCED by BCCI to include Ganguly. What a piss job Kiran More has as the CHIEF of selection committee.
As far as Ganguly having success in Pak, I can not predict the future but can only base my judgment on past and recent history. Do any of you have the balls to predict if Ganguly is gonna succeed in Pak? No. So STFU.

I don't have to expose my butt on GS. Ganguly did not score more than 39 as I had promissed. His highest was 37.
The Game and F&B, can I give you some jootay now?
I think Ganguly's inclusion in the team for this series was a big big factor for their loss. And don't look at it from Ganguly's batting performance. It's more of his presence in the dressing room. He also screwed up the team composition for the opening slot. I still can not believe that I saw Dravid and Laxman open the innings. Unreal!

Did anyone else get the feeling while watching the current series that most frontline Indian batsmen don't like batting with Ganguly. It was so obvious when Yuvraj came out to bat while Ganguly was on the crease. Yuvraj kept the interaction with him to a minimum.
I think Ganguly is trying hard to fit back in but there is a lot of resistance within the current Indian camp.

Lucky you !!!! It was stupid claim to make. He got to chance to bat and made 30s both time. But obviously you are on winning side so you are right....
