I dont think the artical blames the west. I think the point is that muslim youth have lost their identlity. Its not talking about the ills of the west but the way of life that the youth are taking.
Take for example the blacks of the USA. They preach their music - but listen to the lyrics and you soon find that the music helps drum them down into the sterotypical black thug type.
I would say more an attack on the parents who dont know what their kids are turning into, the getto blacks of the UK. The lifestyle they are picking is shallow and meaningless - no substance -as the artical says ego and pride.
