No I am not being funny here. Deobandi's have worked closely with Wahabbis post 79 invasion of Afghanistan and hence their views and attitudes have hardened. TTP/LEJ/ASWJ is deobandi and they offer allegiance to Alqaeda which is Wahhabi.
May be ... I don't know about the politics of people ... Wahabbis are a religio-political group - Deobandis do not have a political manifesto. I know because I am from them. And there are many types too ... All Deobandis have the same religious basis - but they differ on politics with each other because there is no set Deobandi outlook for politics. And it should remain that way. But to blame the whole Deobandi school for those who ally with the Wahhabis on political grounds is misleading.

As a school of thought , deoband is older than Bareilly's which was founded in 1901 by Ahmad Reza Breilwi while former was founded in 1864. To an extent you are right, wahabi movement in Arabia inspired Deoband to free the islam in India from Bid'aa, thats it. Then there is also a list of differences between ahl-hadith and Deobandi.
Those who didnt subscribed to Deoband, was labelled bareilwi in 20th century. Fiqa wise, both deobandi and bareilwi are following the same hanafi fiqa.

You forgetting some thing, Jumiat ulema islam and Jamaiat ulema e Hind are political outlooks of Deoband. Deobandi ulema were infact quite active in politics during colonial times. Not just that, major movements were started by them like khilafat movement, hijrat movement and tablighi movement (which was infact started in response to Shuddhi' and 'Sangathan of hindus.)

Interesting. so, there was no tableegh before shudhi movement?
But I heard Bhagti was a counter movement to preaching movement by Sufis.
