Gandhi 'humbly' declines PM job (MERGED)

Well, if MM Singh started these reforms under previous Congress government (who was the PM then? that crook Rao??), then obviously Congress is more to the center than to the left. Plus, you may think the current economic policies are great, but apparently plenty of Indians disagreed. So obviously, there is a need to balance the whole thing, and bring the middle India into the fold of economic prosperity.

MM Singh might be a great man...but until the Gandhi name is removed from the political framework of the country, it is to India's detriment. (my personal feelings)

Exactly my sentiments. I have nothing against her being of Italian origin (although I don't know how many Italians would accept an Indian for their PM). I have everything against Congress choosing her because of her Gandhi name. I wonder how many votes would she have garnered if she had used her maiden name of Sonia Maino?

I don't even want to see Rahul or Priyanka annointed already as future PM's. What is it, Hindustan or Gandhistan? It is debatable if the election results in India were an expression of true democracy or of true wyakti-puja (elitocracy?). I do not want Sonia to become India's Musharraf the way her mother-in-law did.
