Gaming Addiction

Why did I start this Thread? Well I’m an addict. I can’t stop playing games. It’s been this way all the years. I can’t figure out why. Due to personal reasons I was not able to play games for almost 2 years. I dl the PES 2006 Demo in Pakistan and something inside told me to get rid of that game, so I did.

When I got back to Germany I was pumped when I saw my brothers PS4. I was dreaming of Games I would play. NHL, PES, NBA etc.

I played the PES 2105 Demo for 2 weeks on my PC. I didn’t become an addict straightforward. I played 1-2 hours a day, then didn’t play, then fired up the PS4, played the NHL Demo, played with my brother. In a certain limit. I was fine with that.

Then I bought NBA 2k15 for PS4. I came from work and instead of having a shower or eating I fired up the PS4 and played NBA 2k15 for 5 hours. I even missed my prayers (I didn’t miss my prayers before), didn’t read Qur’an anymore. When I was at work I would think about this game “How cool and awesome this is” and “I’ve never seen this before”. This game literally made me mad. My behaviour was changed overnight by that game.

Then I took the bitter decision to sell that game. I had the game for a week, but then as I told I sold it. My bro doesn’t have that kind of addcition! Why is that with me or say certain people?

Yeah I’m at peace of mind now, but I miss playing…
anyone else having a gaming addiction?

Re: Gaming Addiction

I used to have an addiction a few years back. Any moment I was not playing, I would just wait to get back to the game. I never missed a single prayer for it. It was all due to the novelty of playing multiplayer online. Anyhow, after the experience, I've pretty much given up on online multiplayer gaming. I just find it to be way too involved and that's just not something that's for me anymore.

Re: Gaming Addiction

Nope. Never.

Re: Gaming Addiction

Addiction to anything has such an effect. I was addicted to GS once and that's all I did or thought about all day. I was never a game addict though.

Re: Gaming Addiction

Not addicted per se but I like playing from time to time and gaming isn't what it was used to be, toxic communities and bad ethics by developers/publisher. Movies on the other hand....

Re: Gaming Addiction

Well, that's weird. Never had such type of addiction even though I do game a lot but I have it under control.

Thank You

Re: Gaming Addiction

why?

Re: Gaming Addiction

Used to be into PC Gaming, then Consoles, and now neither. I’ll still play the likes of GTA when they first come out, but that’s about it. :hehe:

Re: Gaming Addiction

I used to play Street Fighter in my school days in Pakistan on Arcade for hours. The good thing about Arcades is that they are only available to you in business hours.

Re: Gaming Addiction

Another thing that would limit your playtime is the fact that you'd have to insert coins to play (and continue playing).

Re: Gaming Addiction

I used to play mostly with other players and it was winner stays so I was always on one end of it.

Re: Gaming Addiction

Been gaming for as long as I can remember, never been addicted, but yes gaming is a passion of mine. Not much into PC gaming, apart from the odd manager sim or real-time strategy game, but I've pretty much owned every mainstream console ever released.

Re: Gaming Addiction

Gaming is also my passion. Well not as much now as my unmarried days. I learned to appreciate games even more after studying Computer Science in University. Though I don't get much playtime now, I still follow gaming news quite closely. For better or for worse, it seems like the next generation (nieces and nephews) all got into gaming because of me.
