Just for the record, Bangladesh scored 74 runs in the last 7 overs
Re: Game 34 - Bangladesh vs South Africa, April 7th 2007
:) Hulle het heeltemal swak gespeel.
Ik denk de Bengalen hebben heel sterk gespeeld...waarin de Zuid Afrikanen hadden geen rekening gehouden...maar goed of jammer dan :D

Re: Game 34 - Bangladesh vs South Africa, April 7th 2007
This really opens up the race for the fourth slot in the semi final line up.
Tomorrow's match will also be important as England will be looking to beat Aus to stay in the competition.
Re: Game 34 - Bangladesh vs South Africa, April 7th 2007
Just imazine...if this was a preliminary round match...South Africa may have been ousted from the World Cup before the Super 8. That is why I have been saying that a format where a team can be ousted based on one fluke upset is not good.
Re: Game 34 - Bangladesh vs South Africa, April 7th 2007
Bangladesh did a terrific job in exploiting the weakness of South Africa. After Pollack and Nitni, they do not have a wicket taking bowler who can consistently keep the pressure on the opponent. This match again shows the failure of South African batsmen to play spin.
After Sri Lanka's last minute shock, Graeme Smith in his own words went from age 20 to 40 in no time. This game may have put the nail in the coffin, South Africa looks like a beatable team. It is just amazing what one game can do to a team's mentality.

Australia dethrone South Africa. They are once again the top-ranked team in both forms of the game.

Excellent stuff from BD…kudos and full credit to them…![]()
SA showed that BD is the new mercurial side that can beat No1. ranking teams on the right day.

Re: Game 34 - Bangladesh vs South Africa, April 7th 2007
SA lost because of a lack of variety in their bowling attack, no spinners. There is a sameness about their seam attack plus their inability to play well against spinners on a slow pitch lacking bounce was fully exploited by the three Bengali spinners

After this victory, India will be gunning for D. Whatmore for sure :D

Go watch the game again, Uncle fluke :p always rack up an excuse, instead of accepting Some 1 else's victory :D

Theek hai BD played better. But that does not mean it was not a fluke.
My definition of a fluke victory is one that is not likely to repeat itself in the next 10 matches. For example, if SA playes BD again tomorrow, I will bet my chaddis that SA will win.
