When Kallis is at the crease even the Ausies don't taunt him. He go in a sort of mental state that he does not care about what's happening around him - unfortunately.

yes. He needs to reassess his game plan for variuos situations. He will say in dressing room that wickets were falling around him so he had to dig in but in reality wickets fell around hitting out because Kallis was unable to up the tempo.

Add to it Ponting's better field placing.

Smith tried something in the first 10 overs by having his fielders closed in attacking positions and di not set them out under AUS had >80 overs. Ponting immediately had his fielders on the extreme positions.

I also noticed that two best teams in WC, have lot of consultation among senior players when things are not going their way, Australia and Sri Lanka. This has been missing in other teams.

Chasing a massive total and still managing ~ 300 is not a bad effort :k:

Put the Indian / Pakistan team in that place and they would have bowed out for 113 in 41.5 overs :rolleyes: , off-course on one of their BAD days in the field :omg:

Guys...this match was of an academic nature...both teams were already in the S-8...

Its unfortunate for Australia to win this match to lose the more important one...the compensation law...hmmmm
