Re: Game 20, Group B - India vs Sri Lanka - Friday March 23rd
90+% chances of SL beating India here. Although India will be very determined not to let that happen.
However, I have a feeling that the young blood of SL with Moody's coaching will beat Indian old guns under Uncle Chappel.
On the other hand SL might get complacent. (limited chances of this now, after the example made of Paksitan.)

Sorry yaar..I decided to open it on an auspicious day (Thursday)...I personally read my horoscope for that reason!!
But this hollowman..inspite of knowing, digged this out for fun!
Anyway, I will open one tomorrow...let's see what mods will do:(
Re: Game 20, Group B - India vs Sri Lanka - Friday March 23rd
Vass and murli will not let India chase down anything over 250.
BUT...
as long as Sachin is there, anything is possible. He must deliever.
Boss, can't trust Sachin anymore...
I think in present Indian team, if we want to chase a big total against Lankans, then we will depend upon a decent start from Sehwag(:( ).
This will be followed by Dravid or Ganguly palying an anchors role i.e. holding wicket from one end and YUVRAJ doing the main scoring. Dhoni has to come-up and finish at the end.
So the key player at the moment is Yuvraj.

If Jaysurya clicks than SL will have a real chance.
Jayasuriya is in pain. He turned his knee at the end of the last over, turning back when Jayawardene resisted a single to short fine leg, and is hobbling off the field with the physio. Out comes Kumar Sangakkara

I know, you can not trust Sehwag and Dhoni like you used to. Still, Sachin can change the game in favor for India.
That's the real match up, Indian batsmen against Vass, Murli, Jaysuriya and Malinga. All Indian bolwers have to do is keep steady line and length and hope fielders keep it very tight.

dude I use to be a great fan of Tendlya...but match winning is not his field.
How can one neglect Yuvraj...I think, Yuvi is a match winner and has enough experience to handle Vaas, Murli, Malinga and Jayasuriya.
But again our Indian batsmen are good at paper.
In actaul practice, I think for our batting is like how our batsmen get confidence while on pitch.
I hope they will get back their confidence on Friday...and once any two of them can settle themselves, chasing won't be a problem.
I will hope for Yuvraj to do this.
Re: Game 20, Group B - India vs Sri Lanka - Friday March 23rd
ok...so far..it has been good for India..Looks like SL is moving towards a big win against BL.
and also Jaysurya now has played 2 consecutive good inning and is expcted to be victim of law of averages in next game. Also he is injured. :p
If SL wins by more than 50 runs, all India needs to do is beat SL and go into superleage with 2 points and team like England,WI and Ireland are there to accummulate more points. Also with us in superleage we will have team like SL who can beat other teams and keep their point low ( Compare this to going into superleague with Bangladesh)...
Yes..I am looking too far and may be day-dreaming but I think a WIN against SL will be actually much bigger than what we may imagine.
