just ignore them. they WANT you to look at them and acknowledge them, thats why their cat calling in the first place. you'll just be giving them what they want, those sickos....

I ignore them. I think the less attention they get the better it is. :S However...it could also result in motivating them to "try harder" :S the ones I've encountered so far were silent as soon as they realised that I had absolutely no intention of errrrm getting to know them. Alhamdulillah.
Never have had to deal with them in the States or Canada, even in the trashiest areas.
On my last trip to Pakistan, it happened 3 times.
first time a guy slapped my butt, i turned around and he was running across the road. i just got really shocked and my sister saw him too. and we couldn't really mention it bc our chacha was walking with us. we just started walking in front of him after that so we were always in his line of view.
second time this guy flashed us outside imambara , i was walking with my a 70 yr old relative, and she yelled at him that you don't have any shame? and he started running away.
third time, i was sitting with my cousin outside after fajr (behind gates) and this guy rode by on his bike and made a lewd gesture with his hands...we got really scared and ran inside...i didn't even tell anyone cuz i didn't want ppl to think that maybe i am the kharab one attracting such people
my mamoo told me not to say anything to these people kyun k kuch peeche par jaate hain, they might even follow you home.
idk....i used to say Westerners are kharab bc they date so many people before marriage...but now i think it's better for a society to have girls and guys dating consensually...rather than a society where a bunch of guys are just rubbing themselves up against unwilling girls or saying gross things to them cuz they're so desperate.
