Some of you may be aware that I was contemplating getting a Galaxy S4, going from an iphone 4.
Ended up getting an S3 for free, so got that instead. It worked great the first week. But as of 2 days ago, it is so slow to charge and drains quickly. It has been plugged in for the past 3 hours and only charged up to 67% from 40+%. Last night, it was sitting idle. Power Save mode on. No apps running in background, and by morning it had nearly drained to about 20%.
What is going on? Have any of you experienced this? Should I do a factory reset, or is it more likely an issue with the device?
Note: I have tried charging using the wall charger, as well as cable-to-pc. Both charge extremely slow. It only started 2 days ago.
Yes teggy. I face this. Is your GPS on? Set it to off. It eats the battery too. Also, try unplugging and then re-plug. You see, when you plug it a red light appears on the left side. If the light is dim, keep re-plugging it until it appears to be a sharp red light there. That means its properly charging. Yes it sounds annoying, but thats how I do it. Also try changing the socket.
Thanks queen_24. The led is solid red, not dim, it's pretty bright. I have unplugged and plugged it in again. Just took out the battery, cleaned the contacts and reinstalled the battery. Charging it again now.
But if this a known issue, and people just have to adjust themselves to it, it sucks for the reputation of such a great device. :( My iPhone was charged 3 days ago, I used it several times a day for media/reading pdfs, etc. It still has more than 40% charge left. It really irks me.
I have not shut off GPS yet because some apps on there use GPS/Location service. Will I need to constantly turn it off/on on per-use basis?
