Pakistan Saeed, Wasim, Waqar, Rashid, Inzi

**Zim ** Heath Streak, Henry Olanga, and Andy flower (yes its most likely, keep reading articles)

India Srinath, Kumble (from onedayers)

South Africa Allan Donald, Jonty Rhodes, Garry Kirsten (from onedayers)

** Australia ** McGrath (from onedayers), Warne already gone,

Bangladesh Akram Khan, Khaled Mashud

Kindly share whatever you know about these players intentions and updates and ther records and pay tribute to these fine cricketers…

Sad to see anwar, wasim and inzi go. I hope Anwar and inzi do not...

even if he changes his mind he will be 500 by the time next world cup comes...btw how old is murali? i thought he was a young player but maybe not

Inzimam still has plenty of runs left in him. Saeed is still a good player but might be at the end of his career so not sure we should perservere with him.

Although I don’t like to see Saeed retiring but I think this is the best time for him to retire with honor otherwise we all know the freaking PCB. But hope Inzi does not retire after WC, I doubt Inzi can make it to th e next WC but I hope he sticks arround for a year or two. :k:

Saeed bhai :k: :jhanda:

I doubt Inzamam will retire....but I think Wasim, Waqar and Rashid should retire after the WC.

Who said Inzi will retire, he has a lot of cricket left in him. Maybe till the next WC. If a fast bowler like Akram can play till he is 37, why can't Inzi?

Murali is thinking about retiring from one day cricket to concentrate completly on test cricket.

We all know Shane Warne is never coming back for test and one days. I doubt he will be able to make the team after being suspended for one whole year.

Wasim, Waqar and Saeed should retire immediatly after the WC respectfully, unlike Miandad, he had to be pushed out of the team after 96.

Miandad retired on his own terms, he announced it well before the WC 96 that he will retire immedialt after WC 96 and that he did.

Well he made the announcement in public but his reputation was ruined before the WC, he was performing badly and everyone pushed him to retire but he refused but then he finally retired.

reputation was ruined?? Check out the reception he got when he went out to bat against England in karachi and against Newzealand in Lahore.

assalamoalikum :jhanda:

confirmations and new prospects to retire>>>>>>>>>>>>>>..

pakistan: saeed anwar is not retiring he has made that clear he said that after being dropped from the national side for the tour of south africa he felt down and out and as his daughter bismah had also died so suddenly he thought about hanging his boots up but his family members and friends urged him to carry on as he was still preforming at the top level and saeed admitted that after the wc he would manage his performance every 6 months and see it from there.

wasim and rashid latif are definetely retiring they have made it officially clear. wasim also suffers from diabeties and rashid from a persisitent neck/shoulder injury and they both feel adamant that they have served their country to the best of their ability.

waqar and inzi don’t be daft they aren’t retiring at all who told you this the commentators what do they know about performaing they are has-beens they real athlete is the cricketer on the pitch and he decides when its time. inzi has made it clear that he intends to carry on and waqar who will be 32 in a few months has a few years left in him yet. (even sky have his age wrong he ain’t 32 yet and they say he’s 33)

england: alec stewart no he isn’t retiring yet he said that he would carry on for 2 more years at international level before the team left for their tour down under. yes this is his last wc but not the end of his international career, try finding a better keeper than him in the country at the moment none zilch he is the best at the moment

sri lanka: aravinda yes he is retiring he has a big business in sri lanks and wants to concentrate on it and he also feels he has done enough at the top level rightly so look at his record it speaks for the legend. muralitharan no he isn’t retiring yet he said he would carry on for 2 more years then retire from odi’s and prolong his test career.

zimbabwe: olonga well he has been expelled by his club side for protesting against human rights violation in zimb and no domestic cricket means no international cricket lets just say it will be tough for him to get back into the side zimbabwe have a upcoming pace attack and olonga won’t be required in a few months time, so probabaly yes the end for him andy flower the legend will retire yes and he has signed for a aussie state side and gloustershire i believe to play domestic cricket in the upcoming season.

aussies: mcgrath this is a big speculation but it hasn’t been confirmed yet, warne yes he said he would retire from odi’s after the wc to prolong his test career he’ll be back in no time he is a living legend and he won’t let anyone take his place permanently so bradley and mcgill have a short spell coming up for them

india: srinath don’t know he’ll carry on i believe he is still india’s top odi wicket taker and has performed very well so far in the wc he’ll stick around rest assured, kumble possibility.

bangla: akram khan yes and mashud said he would in a press statement.

**south africa: rhodes yes he confirmed it befoe the wc, he will play county cricket in england after the wc, donald he is hanging by a thread in that south african side, so don’t know…

i have also heard that holland’s roland lefbvre is retiring to concentrate on the cricket academies he runs in holland and he is president so he can’t do both.

also west indies legend carl hooper has said that he was considering retirement but said factors in the future might change his decision.

englands andrew caddick said he would retire after the summer tests if they take place against south africa and zimbabwe

South Africa Allan Donald, Jonty Rhodes, Garry Kirsten (from onedayers)

wowww… aik to barh kar aikkkk cricket hian in ki team main…
they both are really really great batsman..
Jonty Rhodes… rulessss… :smooth:

I really am gonna miss Wasim, Waqar , Rashid. Good to hear Saeed is considering it. I hope he does not leave as Pak cricket is in such a disarray. And the thought that tomorrow's match maybe the last one they will ever play is really saddenning :(. I have watched them since my childhood and Pak cricket even Int'l cricket will really look pretty odd without them.

Someone give wasim anti-ageing medicine. I don't know if we ll see bowling like his in the future... :(

sad to see that my all time favorites saeed anwar and wasim akram are retiring… alec stewart is a great batsman and a keeper.
Desilva is a xperience player.
srinath and kumble both sux:p

Jonty Rhodes the all time best fielder
Gary Kirsten one of the successfull openers in the world
Allan Donald one of the fastest and great bowlers in the world…

Good Luck where you guys are going
It was great watching you
thnx for making cricket intresting for us!:k:

**Wasim set to hang boots after returning home

From our correspondent

BULAWAYO: Wasim Akram will not make himself available for selection for the triangular one-day series in Sharjah as he's expected to announce his retirement once the team returns home from the World Cup.

"The time has come to take a bow. I've made up my mind, but would make a final announcement after reaching home," he said.

Wasim, 36, admitted on Tuesday that though he had enjoyed every match of the World Cup, he was very disappointed with the team's performance. "It's been a big disappointment. I thought we had the team to make the knockout stage, but nothing went right for us. I myself tried to do my best, but I feel I let down the people by not taking wickets in the match with India. "I want to go out with respect and grace. That's why I've decided not to make myself available for the Sharjah tournament."

Pakistan will appear in the three-nation tournament from April 1, which will also feature South Africa and Sri Lanka.

Wasim said he had got a lot of fame, love and respect during his 18 years in international cricket and would like to continue to associate himself in some capacity with the sport. Wasim said he would also take a final decision on whether to accept an offer from English county Hampshire to play the coming season once he returned home.

The former Pakistan captain said he had turned down offers from some provincial sides in South Africa to play for them as he didn't believe he could spare so much time.

Asked about his appeal against the match-fixing sanctions imposed on him, Wasim said his legal advisor was taking care of things and he would force the issue once he returned home.
**

yeah, thats pretty sad eh!
looks like South Africa is losing its 3 really good players!
and so is Pakistan!

hey, Shane Warne is gonna be back after a year so, he's not really "gone" gone you know!
