How should a guy put on some weight without heating fast foot and unhealthy stuff.
Its for someone who is very thin in the age gropu 25-30 and wants to put on a few kg

Go for Herbalife's products, if he want to gain weight the healthy way. Or start having a large glass of banana shake with one or two parathe every morning. Drink a couple of glasses of water after this. And of course move a little else all he'll get is a huge tummy.
I use one banana, half a glass of milk and one full glass vanilla ice, blend it.
Try cheese paratha with butter instead of regular once.
I serve this to my bro, who's masha Allah very well built, just when I think he's getting lazy I motivate him to move :o

My husband thinks he's skinny...which he's not. ( I think it's a body dysmorphic thing). So he does occasionally eat fast food. But just tries to eat more in general. Lots of protein and carbs. He also drinks weight gainer shakes from GNC. He works out 3-4 times a week doing weights but no cardio so he won't burn off too many calories. He has a very high metabolism and has zero bodyfat. I'm so jealous.

In order to gain weight you have to prevent your body from being catabolic[breaking down muscle] To do this you have to eat every 2 hours, the most. Keep eating..bananas, peanuts are good snacks to carry around. Meat and rice should always be in your diet and it is especially important to have something right before you go to bed, I recommend cottage cheese.

Basic idea is to eat more. A lot more.
However serving size is important. Dont eat too much at the same time, but eat 5 times a day.
Have a healthy breakfast with a good ammount of protein in it (egg whites are good for that, so is milk and oat meal).
Then have a mid morning snack, usually something like a protein shake would be ideal.
For lunch eat big, once again focus on good ammount of protein.
In the evening spend an hour or two working out. Do weight excercises and donot focus much on cardio as it doesnt add on any muscle. Right after excercise consume another protein shake.
Then at night have another healthy meal with good ammount of protein.
Take multivitamins. Keep your Carb / Protein / Fat ratio to 40%, 30%, 30%. Eat a good ammount of veggies too
Usually this high protein diet is tough to maintain but protein shakes come in handy.
I use Prolabs NLarge 2 , and also ProLabs SoyaProtein powder.
Soyaprotein powder is generally a cheap way of getting protein, and is very healthy but its sideeffect is increased Estrogen production in guys, so make sure you dont get more than 40-50 grams of protein per day from soyabeans (i tend to take around 15 grams of soya protein per day).
Key here is to gain weight by working out and increasing protein intake. This will help you get muscle as well as put on some healthy weight.
For workouts, concentrate on heavy weights and low reps, with as many sets as you can. Ideally do one workout per body part, per week, with around 10 repetitions per workout atleast.

If you have never done any weight training before - forget diet just exercise for the heck of it. Get used to all exercises - they take time to really get used to. Do all exercises - specially the big 3 - barbell rows, barbell bench and squats. Youll gain muscle without even going on a diet.
Please start slow - weight training can be very overwhelming for newcomers. As someone else said dont try to lift too much weight. Try to get a good ‘feel’ for all exercises. I am sure you’ll do fine.

My eldest son has always needed to gain weight also. Some helpful things to try - add extra virgin olive oil to foods. This oil is actually good for you, helps lower bad cholesterol and boosts good cholesterol. You can add it to puddings and stews without affecting taste. Also try those breakfast shakes, we use Carnation Instant Breakfast, it doubles the calories in a glass of milk and provides lots of protein, vitamins and minerals. If you live in USA, you can get a special type called Instant Breakfast VHC (Very High Calorie), its 550 calories per glass.
