Gadget Kids

Re: Gadget Kids

All of you parents who are not giving your kids the latest Iphone! Kuddos!

Dont ever do it! When you get them a phone, get one without all the internet crap.

I'm in my mid-20s and I cannot limit my internet surfing because of the stupid iphone!
The thing is freaky addicted and I've spend a great amount of time and energy on not using it!!

(This is mainly happening because there is wireless internet everywhere, yikes I wish I never got an iphone)

Re: Gadget Kids

lol what a stupid thing to say
you do know that we no longer live in a paper/pencil generation right?
by the time these techy kids are in their late 20s and having kids, their kids would be saying "huh? Whats a pencil? Whats this thing called paper?"

I think making them earn the stuff they want is a good idea. doing house chores, homework etc.

question

would you let them have a part time job when they are in high school?

Re: Gadget Kids

^ The part time job is a very interesting question, should amount to a separate thread. Focused on financial freedom for kids.

Back to earning points. I want some more creative ideas ... so far I have used homework, quran, sunday school home work, household chores ... but my daughter does 'em all without any big fuss (alhumdulillah) ... so I need to get creative.

Re: Gadget Kids

^ how about volunteering in the hospital, doing something for the communtiy, cleaning up the masjid, helping other kids or elderly. I take my kids to soup kitchen and I make them vac-um and straighten out the masjid on a weekly basis.

She can also raise money for a cause.
