Dialogue and Forum for community women leaders
On December 7, 2006 women organizers will come together in a training/dialogue to explore and discuss the challenges we face as women leaders in the community. This is part of the global effort “16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence”, an initiative of the Center for Women’s Global Leadership. In this training/dialogue we will have cross-organizationa l discussion about the challenges faced by women working for equality and change in the larger social justice arena. This event is open for women organizers, volunteers and activists. Topics to be addressed:
• What is Gender Violence and how is it present in our everyday lives and in our work?
• What challenges do we face as women activist, educators and organizers?
• What are some solutions and strategies to address these challenges?

i didnt get a chance to visit new york , I know its really a polulated kinda city ...actually the prob is that i didnt wana visit USA , i know 1 thing that AMERICANS didnt lik us , they think that we are barbaric kinda creature on earth especially they didnt hav Goood feeelings for Muslims

We pakistanies will be GRADED as 3rd class kinda citizen ....When we hav each and everything in our homland Y, we need to work for them in their country ....I would really prefer and appreciate if som1 work for their nation after completing their education from abroad and work for their own country .......

I know 1 thing abt American culture , they r really dif from us , Every culture hav som values and som Norms , they dont hav tim for others ...Life is too fast their ... even these ppl dont hav any social life .... i dont know how u think abt living in America , might b u r really inspired by them and their life .. In short i hat Americans :)

it depends on what you mean by 'they dont have time for others' ever seen stats on funds raised by private citizens in US for causes around the world. or amount of hours given by college students for social service as volunteers?

its fast because people put in an honest days of work, and they dont have servants everywhere to do their work, which would be the same case in pakistan if we did not have the shameful predatory employment practices for domestic workers.

by social life if you mean that mohallay wala at your door every day and ppl sitting on footpath yip yapping, sure you will probably not see it. However people are social.

i hav really appreciated the way u hav discussed , each and every point with reasoning and with (ur own point of view ) Life is not a bundle of Roses anywhere .. U hav to struggled everywhere … if u work hard in ur own country too , u really hav a bright future …ya i know we dont hav enough resources , we dont hav any system , there are flaws everywhere but som1 from us hav to com forward to tak initiative …

I didnt mean that at all abt social life , i gues and u seemed to be soo desperate , dear u know that 1 Generation hav to sacrifice and work hard and surrender against the system or Let go , afterthat the next generation enjoys and find all kinda facilities ( By the grace of Allah we r here the 2nd Gen who r right now enjoying what ever u can imagine ) Ppl here are educated too u really find nice families here too …and i think if u r really capable and u hav som potential , I swear u r really being respected here too and handsum pay as well …

For ur kinda information , these development and research work is done by these labors asians .. and u find alot of pak ppl too who sacrifice their lives for this development …definately this country hav a Good system , perfect planning and a professional managemet …that we are still lacking off …I will tak tim and 1 day u will find nice developed Pak too … lets hop for the best …

I agree, hard work is needed everywhere, but nepotism/sifarish etc is still very high in Pakistan. There are people who are taking the initiative there which is good to see.

I am not completely clueless about Pakistan I have studied there for 2 years and have friends and family who are in Pakistan and are doing well.

For ur kinda information , these development and research work is done by these labors asians .. and u find alot of pak ppl too who sacrifice their lives for this development …definately this country hav a Good system , perfect planning and a professional managemet …that we are still lacking off …I will tak tim and 1 day u will find nice developed Pak too … lets hop for the best …

not just labor asians, ppl from all over the world, the qustion is why? its because ppl get more opportunity based on their talent, and the emphasis on development that is here.
