SAM is future talent of pakistan .. Allah ALlah kheir sullah !
Anyways the good part is that few guys from the under 19 WC winner team have been picked for this program including 2 fast bowlers and the opener.

Re: Future talent programs players for pak

1-6, 10, 14-16, 23.... so 10 out of 25 are same old ghisay-pitay talented people for "future"? Some of them have already performed and were good enough. I thought such program would be for players who have not played international cricket and will be groomed thru such programs.

Re: Future talent programs players for pak

^ Well, they couldn’t create their place in international team because they weren’t groomed enough in the first place. I don’t think it will hurt to put players like Butt and Yasir in the program to correct their technique and to build their temperment. My only fear is that they will bigharify the new kids.

PCB launching structured program of training, coaching and hunting cricket talent
by Pakistan Cricket Board

DateLine: 20th October 2006

Media Release - 20 October 2006

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is launching a structured program of training, coaching and hunting cricket talent at all levels.

The program will be carried out in three segments which are as follows:

(i) Future Players Program: In consultation with Director Cricket Academies and the National Selection Committee, around 30 highly talented players from all Regions of Pakistan will be picked and polished with the aim of raising their standard of skills to national and international level. This segment will take place from 1-15 November, 2006.

(ii) Talent Hunt Coaching Program: The aim of this program would be to explore new talent at Regional level especially from Regions which have not been properly tapped so far. This part of the program will be conducted in two phases:

First phase: The first phase of this segment will be held from mid-November to early December, 2006. It would focus on extracting talent from FATA, Azad Kashmir, districts from NWFP like Bannu and Kohat, and Balochistan.

Second Phase: This phase will be carried out in January, 2007 and will cater districts of Interior Sindh such as Sukkur, Larkana, Thatta, Shikarpur, Dadu, Nawabshah, Hyderabad and districts from Southern Punjab like Bahawalpur, Rahimyar Khan, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sahiwal, Okara, Multan and Khanewal.

(iii) School Boys Program: This segment will cover all cricketing Regions of Pakistan and will also be conducted in two phases. The timing of these phases is as follows:

First phase - December, 2006
Second phase - April/May, 2007

All these activities are being conducted under the umbrella of National Cricket Academy and as part of a year-round schedule for hunting, grooming and retaining natural cricket talent found in abundance in Pakistan.

According to the official spokesman of PCB, this 3-dimensional approach is expected to provide national cricket with the much required talent at all levels and from each and every Region.

Re: Future talent programs players for pak

I can see the name of Anwar Ali but wheres Jamshed - his left hand opening bowling partner from the under 19 side?

Re: Future talent programs players for pak

Yes agree. I also thought the such programmes are designed for junior players and players who are knowcking on the door for senior cap. Some of the players like Mishbah- Ul-Haq will not be a regular in the side or get selected so why do they have to waste time on him?

Re: Future talent programs players for pak

yeah..and how r ppl with already tst caps being put in with youngsters..?
only good reason would be to filter out the chaf from the wheat..?
then if you drop guys like SAMI , no one can say it was not valid.. I mean those who keep getting him in.....

Re: Future talent programs players for pak

He was definitely the BEST of the three U19 bowlers, for some strange reasons, he is always ignored by the selectors.

Re: Future talent programs players for pak

Does any one know why he doesn't get selected? Is theere any reason why this may be i.e. injury etc. I thought he had plenty of potential and do better than Anwar Ali.

I wonder which jokers pick this pool of players.

Re: Future talent programs players for pak

^ the only reason that i can understand is that he got few games on domestic level but was unable to repeat his performance and infact went for lots of runs as well … so that could be the factor…check out his domestic profile

i agree about the jamshed … he had really good stats and did really well… i wonder why he couldnt make it to the list !

Re: Future talent programs players for pak

we really need yasir hameed in the team in place of imran farhat!

Re: Future talent programs players for pak

Here is Jamshed Ahmed’s profile

He is youngest of the three, started playing First class cricket before Akhtar Ayub or Anwar Ali(None of them have played first class cricket yet) for service industries and outbowled his experienced and hyped up colleague Mohammad Irshad. He did pretty well in the 4 first class matches he has played so far and started first class cricket even before he was selected for U19 WC.

Re: Future talent programs players for pak

Mohammad Sami and Misbah ul Haq :smack:

The only reason I could think of keeping Sami among other youngsters is to give them a message that never say never :hehe:and that even if you arer the crappiest among the crap gang you can still make into final 11.

And what about Misbah ul Haq? Unkil is almost 33 years old. Does he still have a future in Pakistan national side?

Re: Future talent programs players for pak

I sincerely hope not but those jokers who have sleceted him may think so.

Re: Future talent programs players for pak

^ PCB selectors might think that Misbah will rise to the top like Hussey did ;)

Re: Future talent programs players for pak

Loo g … we have a new opening start in making inshallah
