Not everything is in our hand and not for everything we should be looking towards the govt. Planting trees is one of them, Please plant a tree, plant it for your kids, for your next generation, our ruling elite does not belong to Pakistan, their assets and kids are out of Pakistan and should remain there, since it is our country and our coming generations are going to live here, so we have to take measure to safeguard the future for them.
So far there are 250 trees planted by me and my relatives and friends and many more to be planted before end of this month. Next plantation season we have target of 1000 trees. Like me make small teams, urge your family, friends and colleagues.. request them either to provide space for plantation or a plant… either thing works…
Plant a tree near your house, near hospital, near court house, near canal, in the open areas, if you live in village, plant trees on sides of your land… trees are life line.. they are diminishing… don’t let them fade away…
Agreed but we need to research a bit before planting trees. Some species of trees might actually have negative impact (using more ground water than others, for example) in a certain location. So the trees planted should be suitable for the location and purpose.
Not an expert but for example planting Keekar (Mesquite) can be harmful for other trees/plants around it and eucalyptus tree might deplete underground water.
Planting Paper Mulberry was a disaster for Islamabad.
But don't take my word for it. Ask someone more knowledgeable.

I think we have one with experience of planting a billion trees
We are planting a new breed near houses, these tree grows faster and have no fruits plus remain green almost all year..and consume less water.. So it is all good in colonies and houses… Moreover, once grown the branches of these trees does not break during storms, so it is a safe option…i have yet to see it happening, this is all said to me by an expert…and he have no hairs on his head any more…
On the other hand we are planting trees with wild fruit in open areas…these although consume relatively more water but at same time is good for birds etc.
I would say anyone intetested in plantation must look for expert advice to get maximum
One example is Islamabad, paper mulberry is responsible for the allergy there. If proper research is done, and most probably local varieties are planted there shouldnt be any issue.
