Dear GS Guys
Lately there has been quite an uproar on the thread highlighting some maps of Afghanistan with areas of Pakistan included on the grounds of Pakhtun Ethnicity. I personally think and believe that our Pashto Speaking Pakistani brothers are strongly opposed to such absurd ideas. Nonetheless there would be some who would like to draw new borders on the basis of Past History and Ethnicity. Fully acknowledging their right of opinion, I would like to suggest something. Just assume for a while that on the basis of Past History and Ethnicity they are right in including some parts of Pakistan in their proposed Map of Afghanistan.
Before proceeding further just look onto an Ethno-Linguistic Map of Afghanistan;
According to this map, there are three main groups with distinct Ethnic Lineage viz Iranian, Turkic and Others.
Iranians include Aimak, Baloch, Hazara, Pashtun, Qazilbash and Tajik.
Turkics include Kirghiz, Turkmen and Uzbeks.
Others are the Brahui and Nuristani.
Now on the same premise of Past History and Ethnicity, Iran, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, all can claim to add certain areas of present Afghanistan in to their geographical boundaries. Considering the Afghanis, different from Pathans of Pakistan (atleast politically and / or geographically), the area left for Afghanis would be considerably less than what they have now. Have a look by your own-self;
One thing more, and i.e., that Pathans are Pakistanis. Their past might have been with the areas now included in Afghanistan, but their Present and Future is with Pakistan. They need Pakistan as much, as Pakistan needs them. They are an integral part of Pakistan. But as far as my Afghan brothers are concerned, I would humbly advise that instead of beating an age old trumpet of ethnicity, it is high time that they should do something good for their own country Afghanistan. My advice for Pakistanis and Afghanis is ***STAY PUT. ***
(Please do check a moral story in the thread named STAY PUT.)
Regards for all of you.
