Re: funny :-/

I am too lazy to search for it. But I think it was a Deepak Perwani collection where models had their heads covered but were wearing short skirts and teeny blouses.

Re: funny :-/

Asalamualaikum <<dont forget your salams. it is a command in the Quran and in the Sunnah.. as Muslims we shouldnt ever forget this important peaceful loving greeting! smiles

ok just one thing .. not here to fight with anyone .. but to point out one thing .. that if there is ever a conflict among us we should refer to Allaah and His Messenger (sallahu alaihi wasallam). not to our own thinking and feelings and what we see around us but to what Allaah and His Messenger have said about the matter. “If you differ in anything among yourselves, refer it to Allah and His Messenger, if you believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is best and most commendable in the end [4:59]” .. simple!

walaikumusalam

Re: funny :-/

o and one more thing.... be nice to each other .. in the Quran Allaah has mentioned that Muslims are nicer and humble towards other Muslims and harsher towards the kaafirs... so be nice to each other ..

love u all for the sake of Allaah

Wearning makeup while going outside among non mehram men:
As well as being an act of disobedience and sin, going out wearing one’s adornment is also indicative of a woman’s bad attitude and lack of modesty. How can a chaste and modest woman be content to have people look at her and enjoy her beauty?

But because of her weakness of faith and the strength of her whims and desires, the woman who goes out wearing her adornment does not realize how bad her action is, as Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“and Shaytaan (Satan) made fair‑seeming to them that which they used to do”

        [al-An’aam 6:43]

Many of those who used to go out wearing their adornment, when Allaah blesses them with guidance, become appalled at their former immodest ways.

There are well known reports which warn against tabarruj (wanton display of one's beauty and adornments), such as the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): “There are two types of the people of Hell whom I have not seen: people with whips like the tails of cattle, with which they strike the people, and women who are clothed yet naked, walking with an enticing gait, with something on their heads that looks like the humps of camels, leaning to one side. They will never enter Paradise or even smell its fragrance, although its fragrance can be detected from such and such a distance.” Narrated by Muslim, 2128.

And he (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Any woman who perfumes herself then passes by the people so that they can smell her fragrance is an adulteress.” Narrated by Abu Dawood, 4173; al-Tirmidhi, 2786; al-Nasaa’i, 5126; classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Nasaa’i.

If this sin is repeated, it creates a black spot on the heart, until the whole heart is blackened, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “If the believer commits a sin, a black spot appears on his heart. If he repents, gives it up and seeks forgiveness, his heart is cleansed, but if he does more then (that spot) increases until it covers his heart. That is the raan (covering of sin) which Allaah mentioned in the Qur’aan:

“Nay! But on their hearts is the Raan (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn”

   [al-Mutaffifeen 83:14]

Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 3334; Ibn Maajah, 4244; classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi.

Welcome to gupshup  :flower2:

Re: funny :-/

calm down TJ, she's not (atleast in particular) calling you a hypocrite.

Re: funny :-/

scholar on the islam-qa.com site is just GREAT....He's given a fatwa that Muslims should kill non-Muslims wherever and whenever they can regardless of how good or bad they're and in another fatwa he has told women to cover head to toe(except one eye)....he's just awesome.

Btw, I don't subscribe to Wahabi school of thought so all these fatwa's don't matter to me at all.

Re: funny :-/

I don’t know what you mean by that statement. I think Muslims should get involved in the media as much as they can whether it’s an entertainment industry or any other.

BTW, what’s your major?? If it’s related to business then I’m sure you know marketing for products is most important when you want to promote or sell a particular good.

Re: funny :-/

^^ and if its english you should shoot urself in the foot. Its Thou not though :p

(ive been itching to say that for days)

Re: funny :-/

^ lol i didnt even realize! Anyways you got what I maen

CA I agree, but they dont have to be models, there are other ways of getting involved in different industries. I think its wrong and no matter how anyone justifies it, its still wrong. Is it something the prophet would have approved? Most likely not, then its wrong. But if it works for you then hey go right ahead, dont go around telling other people its ok.

Re: funny :-/

whoa...dis is not going anywhere ppl..mite aswell stop arguing wid each other...

Re: funny :-/

:rotfl: <— my reaction to this debate over hijab and models in hijab and colorful hijabs, etc etc.

Re: funny :-/

oye  don’t tell me wHat to do and what not to do…Seriously, I consider this sort of advertising halal and I don’t even think(my opinion) that Prophet(saw) would disapprove of it because the intention of such advertising is very legit but I won’t speak on his behalf because I’m not him!

you know fashion has become taboo in the Islamic dictionary because this is what people have made it…But I believe we CAN change its meaning. Fashion is what you make it! I WOULD advertise hijab sO that no one can come and tell me my way of dressing is old or unfashionable or whatever!
