Can you please list the funny english movies you’ve seen? That’s the only kind I am able to sit through (other than really good Indian movies). Your help appreciated

By the way, while slapstick is funny, some times there's no substitute for a really cleverly funny movie - example movies like the The Sting (Paul Newman, Robert Redford and there may have been an earlier version with two others that I forgot the name of).
Any suggestions in that genre?

Hmmm, what gets me cracking are the second and third installments of the Austin Powers movies...
The Jerk ... starring Steve Martin ... grows up in a black family thinking that he is black until he goes out into the 'real' world.
There was another very smart and witty movie with Steve Martin and Michael Caine that was realllllllllly funny ... Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
A Fish Called Wanda and Just Married are funny flicks too.
The Carry On movies of the 60s and 70s were also quite funny. :)
