i've never worked NEWhere..i m so lucky i guess in this sence!
But probably i'll start working this summer..i wud not prefer a waiteress fast food kinda job..i wuld luv to work in ULTA..or NE mall shopZ..or a gift/ cards store wuld b great like hallmark!

Selling tires and wheels over the phone. I was so horrible that I was laid off after a month. I am soooo not a salesperson. hehe I infact wanted to quit due to dealing with perverts over the phone and having to be nice about it and try to convince them to buy tires while they were asking me personal questions. Some of them would try to insist for 20 minutes to give them a discount and then offer to come pick me up on their new wheels/tires. eeek

my craziest job was selling knives 
this is wat happened… we were all sophomore in high school… one guy from our batch read some ad. in the newspaper for summer jobs and went to this interview… and got in… he came back and told everyone that they r paying $14/hr.. yes, 14 dollars and hour for a high school kid…
we all called that company the very next day… one by one, everyone got in… that seemed too good to true, but we just went with the flow… The training was unpaid… it was 3 seminars on (how to get rich quick and be a great salesman) we actually paid money out of our pockets to attend those seminars :(so at the end, we all got kit of knives and were to sell it … MANNNN>>. i still donno how we all fell for it… we went from door to door to ask " plz buy our knives" — my sis even gave me a nick of “churi (knives) wala” 
so yeah… we all worked for 3 weeks and then quit at once… without returning the knives back and without telling that we quit…
What a scam that was… On the brighter side… That is how i got to know so many desis in my town as every desi high school kid came to those seminars 
lessons learned – If it seems too good to be true… opt out.

i used to work as a cashier for the local grocery store in my area..not the craziest or the coolest, but you got some really weird people coming up to you and asking you you’re name, and your phone number, hitting on you..the normal stuff.
i remember there was this one older desi uncle dude, he would always come to my line at the store, and you know say, ‘hi, hello’ what not. so okay, he’s a customer and you gotta be friendly..so i said ‘hi hello’ back.
anyways, he started getting a little creepy one day when he came by and asked me if he could take me out to a restaurant for dinner! 
and i’m like ..‘ahhh noo, that’s okay’. thinking to myself - please get me out of here..and he asked me for my number, and i’m like ’ i don’t have a pen’ - and then later i told a guy i worked with my story, and he’s like ‘why didn’t you just give him a fake number!’ - i never thought of that.. 
why must some desi uncle dudes must be so creepy?!

Hey, did anyone fell for Quixtar scams.. that online business aka billionaire in 3 yrs scam… Thanks to my Cutco lesson, I didn’t … but i have heard some ‘excellent’ stories abt it… Plz share urs if u were approaced by them
one thing that they always start from is:
Do you know abt the history of Dunkin Donuts? The owner had one store, then two, followed by three, four and five … something like, you buy an egg, us mein se murgi nikley gi, then you will get more egg, more chickens, and soo on, n then one day you will be the king of poultry farm…
i wonder if there are similar scams going around…

smilestar, your experience reminds me of my job at a mithai store. I had aunties hitting on me for their sons and would ask for name, number, and the like. It was a very embarassing experience and sometimes they wouldn't get the hint that I'm not interested in giving away my phone number.
Aside from that, I had people telling me off (at the same job) about how the mithai's expensive and how it's so much cheaper back in Pakistan.
Overall it was a good job, but the customers surely drove me nuts on a regular basis.
