Funeral & Eid Prayers

Is it true that Salaah Al-Janaazah and Salaah Al-'Eedayn shouldn’t be prayed in the Mosque?

In Pakistan we have a seperate Eidgaah and Janaazgaah in our village but over here we pray both these at the local Mosque.

Is it due to doctrinal reasons or just something the Muslims invented over the generations? Did the early Muslims pray these prayers outside the Mosque and if so could their reason not have been lack of space?

If seperate Funeral and Eid-prayer places are a part of Islam then would it not be good idea to include morgues/funeral-parlors within the complex of the funeral hall and sluaghterhouses within the Eid complex so that Muslims can carry out their own Eid slaughters there or employ a qualified butcher to do it.

Re: Funeral & Eid Prayers

Yes that is true (at least according to Hanafi Fiqh, that is all I can claim cause people in this forum love to cut and paste Haddeeth and Aya't to start arguing).

Your suggestion about adjacent funeral parlor and slaughter house is a good one. That might have been happening somewhere.

In Pakistan, adjacent slaughter house is not possible cause it means bringing your animal there, have someone to guard it while you are praying and then carrying the meat home. Doesn't sound very convenient arrangement to me
