A terrible act of terrorism, which should be condemned by all, including the Christian clergy as these fanatics are deliberately misinterpretating Christian teachings in carrying out their acts of terrorism.
Ugandan Rebels Ambush Bus and Kill 25
Rebels shot or clubbed to death 25 people on a bus in northeastern Uganda on Monday and then set the vehicle ablaze, a government army spokesman said. Nine others were injured in the ambush. The brutal attack followed a wave of violence in recent days in which rebels hacked to death 19 civilians and abducted an unknown number of others, said Maj. Shaban Bantariza. The Lord’s Resistance Army rebels ambushed the 65-seat bus on its way from Lira to Soroti, 174 miles northeast of the capital, Kampala, Bantariza said. He did not provide any other details.
Bantariza said the rebels hacked eight people to death Sunday in Soroti and 11 others from Okwaga refugee camp in Lira district on Friday. Daniel Omara Atubo, a member of parliament from the Okwaga area, put the number of deaths in the Okwaga camp at 14, and said the number of people taken away was not known. He said Saturday, the rebels abducted six boys from Agwari, six miles south of Okwaga. The Lord’s Resistance Army is led by Joseph Kony, who claims spiritual powers protect his fighters. They have been fighting the government of President Yoweri Museveni since it took power in 1986 after a five-year bush war. The group replenishes its ranks with children it abducts to use as fighters, porters or concubines. The rebels rarely speak to journalists and could not be reached for comment.
I just can’t get into the sick psyche of these fundamentalist Christians, just put them all in a big pit and bury them. Christianity has a lot to answer for
I don’t think Christianity has a lot to answer for, rather the clergy that represents Christians. Where are the condemnations for the acts of these fanatics, and their warped teachings?
if it spreads to every corner of the world, and the these radical acts are excused as "acts of defense by opressed people" by both mainstream christians (at some level) and their leaders, then we can talk.

Why don't you silly caricatures look a little deeper?
There are root causes for this clubbing and hacking. The moderate "Christian Street" doesn't necessarily condone it, but we understand how it could happen.

Are these Christians?

They say they are. The Lords's Resistance Army leader, Joseph Kony says he has been "told" by God to topple the "satanic" government of Yoweri Museveni and replace the Ugandan constitution by the 10 Commandments.

Is he related to Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore?
It shouldn't matter if they are Christians or Muslims; the more important point is that these rebels are known for abducting children and utilizing them as fighters or sex slaves. No religion on earth would ever condone such a thing. The LRA's leader, Joseph Kony (sp?) is a crazy nut, who at the very very least deserves to be tried at the Hague for his atrocities against children.

Knowing what he does I'm not sure if he even deserves a trial.

Personally, i am in favour of having him castrated. But that kind of vengeful thinking would tend to reduce me to his own barbaric level.
The point is - the LRA is a terrorist group; how much longer do the people of Uganda have to wait for some "justice" in that society. Ugandan schoolchildren have to walk for miles to go sleep in bus shelters so that they're not abducted from their villages. It's a horrific case of child abuse occurring right infront of the world's eyes.

Well it's a huge continent, i am sure some Africans in different parts of their continent are trying, on a micro level, to do what is within their individual possible capacities. i agree, a significant share of responsibility does exist on their shoulders although we can't say that all "Africans" in general are not doing anything because it's such a diverse continent, there's bound to be differences from region to region (southern Africans, for example, versus eastern/western/northern). Even if a group in Kenya was trying to do something about this situation in Uganda, i doubt we'd hear about it on Fox News or Canada's CBC because it's just not newsworthy enough.
We generally don't hear what is going on in Africa unless it is a huge catastrophe. News outlets don't pick it up and even if they did I'm afraid there is not much interest from the general public. It's generalizing to say that Africans seem unable to help themselves, but the fact is they don't have the resources to do much. I am sure it is going on at the micro level.
