Full face facial hair removal! Help!

Hi girls,
Can someone please advise me what to do…
I went for a bridal makeup trial today and MUA said as I have a lot of facial hair as a one-off I should thread it ALL off, because with heavy makeup it shows and in photos too it’ll show. Plus the acne on cheeks makes it all prominent as heavy foundation sticks to it.

Now all my facial hair is definitely soft, but bleached blonde and long and you can only see in sun or when you come close. I have a lot of hair all over cheeks and sides :frowning:

Should I thread it all off? Does it hurt? Any side effects?

Ps. I’m getting married in 20 days and getting microdermabrasion facials done every 2 weeks

I get my face threaded. Hurts the 1st couple of times but u get used to it after that. I find it pain free now. I have tried waxing and epilating my facial hair but threading is by far the best method (for me personally) also side effects tend to be minimised as its just cotton so shouldn't irritate the skin. Your hair also shouldn't grown back thicker as its pulled from the root. That's just my advise based on my own personal experience

Good luck with the wedding

Re: Full face facial hair removal! Help!

I wouldn't do full face. Maybe just the areas that are very prominent if you really need to.

Re: Full face facial hair removal! Help!

I wouldn't worry too much.....especially if you are going to do it once only.
If you are worried about the pain then try waxing it all off.....that should hurt less since it's a faster process.

Re: Full face facial hair removal! Help!

With your wedding about 20 days away, I would recommend threading. Yes it will hurt since you've never done it before. I would also suggest you get it done ASAP. In case your face gets red/a bit swollen from the threading....it'll take a day or two to go away.

Re: Full face facial hair removal! Help!

not to piggyback on this thread but what kind of wax is good for sensitive skin? Every other salon i’ve gone to say tehy use honey wax…which I take it to mean plain ol regular wax. (I just have a feeling?)

The last 2 times I had it done, they use chocolate wax and this alcohol thinggy on me afterwards that stung like hell…but literally my face was fine that same day…by night there was no redness, no swelling.

Why I not go back there? Becaues I had a major fight with the owner/manager there. :bummer:

Re: Full face facial hair removal! Help!

There are loads of different types of waxes beyond the regular warm wax (cheapest) so it would be hard to say.

If it’s this one, then like other creme waxes, it has a lower operating temperature which is better for your skin and apparently is anti inflammatory as well which explains why you experienced less inflammation.
Gigi Chocolate Wax, Gigi Milk Chocolate Creme Wax, Hair Removal Waxing, Salon Wax

The other I’d recommend trying is hot film wax. This hardens once applied to the skin and then is pulled off… but it doesn’t really adhere to the skin if done right so just pulls the hairs without pulling on the skin very much. It’s good for underarms/bikini/face.

Re: Full face facial hair removal! Help!

If you havent done it before i am not sure you should do it just 20 days before your wedding. When i was getting engaged, my MUA said the same. I let her wax the side cheeks and ensed up with small pimples all over. They werent prominent from far Alhamdulilah but from the close up, they were very clear. Shukar hai make up was good warna everyone would have noticed it.

Re: Full face facial hair removal! Help!

Thanks girls for all advice.

Thing is I have lots of visble bleached hair now all over. And now since MUA said it I feel soo conscious. Plus for my engagement in all the close high definition shots you could see my hairs :'( because its just not sides...its all cheeks as well.

I think yes I will do it soon and that way I've got least 2 weeks for skin to heal.

I called up my local beauty salon and she said I will get tiny spots at first as first timers do? And is there anything I can apply to prevent it from happening?

Re: Full face facial hair removal! Help!

^ You can try a numbing cream beforehand to help prevent the feel of pain. Or even a painkiller.

To minimise pimples/bumps, apply aloe vera or witch hazel gel afterwards to help soothe.
