why does our government promote a fuel that has no driving range and is a lethal weapon within itself “CNG”
methane compressed to 3000 psi is a potentially violent BOMB, one crash can ignite the entire bottle resulting in catastrophic destruction, it does not give driving range more than 60 miles, takes a great deal of time to fill up, damages engines due to extreme lean burning resulting in worn cylinder heads, and wiped cranks due to acidic blowby mixing with high phosphorous engine oils we have.
A better gaseous alternative would be LPG, it is the most widely used fuel in pakistan as our gas lines are restricted mostly to urban or suburban (by pak standards).
Or why do we not use the ethyl alcohol as mixture for regular petrol, our sugar industries pump out huge quantities of mollases, from which this is extracted -they can be used to increase the quantity of petrol (hence reducing costs) and helping the basic development tool — TRANSPORT.
