**Indian women use cameras to fight gropers :shireen: :roman: **
BANGALORE, India (UPI) – Women in India have begun using cameras to fight back against men who grope them in public.
“Eve teasing,” a slang term for pawing a woman’s breasts, has become increasingly common, the Sunday Times of London reported. Jasmeen Patheja, a Bangalore artist and founder of Women Against Sexual Harassment, said that women have “stopped apologizing” for being victims.
Under current laws, gropers can only be convicted if a woman can prove that the action “outraged her modesty.” A man can also use a women’s revealing clothing as a defense.
Patheja said that a man who groped her recently begged her to keep the photograph she took to herself because he has a wife and children. But she put it on the coalition’s Web site.
The coalition has won at least one male supporter, Sunil Mehra, editor of the Indian edition of the British men’s magazine Maxim. He blames “eve teasing” on sexual repression in India. :faizy:
If this is your attempt to make fun of India and show how they treat their woman, i think you’ve done a pretty crappy job, at least htey’re trying to do something about it instead of sitting in some fantasy land thinking their land is wonderful and pure and clean

I have my reasons to believe a specific way. When I say I have reasons, I mean it. You probably forget that Pakistani culture is a ramification of the curses of Indian culture since the old generartion are still holding on to what the brought here from India, we cannot get rid of them…

Lahore, not once have i claimed that America is pure or clean; yes things that have happenedt o me in Pak, have not once happened to me in NY, but that does not mean that NY is a clean and wonderful place. Maybe you were being sarcastic and joking in this post, but you claimed that eve teasing happens ONLY in iNdia when it is obviously not the case.

Our reltives live there and they have never complained to such a high magnitude? They say yes, situation is deteriorating but such stories told by these "visitors" of Pakistan, I have never heard of such a magnitude from them.... People go there for weeks of visits and bring back such horrible stories, one cannot believe. Even those who have lived all their live in Pakistan (Lahore in case of me) are spell bound. I knw there were a few people around and we used to call them "denatured" generation of Amreecan who used to do such bad things. Now we have an opposite situation of these people blamming Pakistanis....... WOW
These can roam around in New York in tight genes and whatever, but doing so in Pakistan will give different results.
I'm in NY so i' don't have to make up anythign to come home, i'm already here.
I don't c why i'm not allowed to say anything about pakistan at all, as if i'm an outsider. its my country/background too, i dont think only someone born/bred in Pak has right to comment on it.
As for attacking my looks/boys wit standards etc, that's a really cheap shot but knowing you i don't expect anything better from you now.
I don't hate Pak and I don't love/prefer India, but I just find it ridiculous to be constantly insulting India just for hte sake of insulting it.
doesn’t matter wht she has to say about pak…that won’t change the ground reality.we all know in wht direct pak is going and whts going on there.ppl who live there don’t complain much bcoz they know nothing will happen.thats the level of corruption for you.atleast in NY if some1 did something stupid he/she will pay for it.police will take action and justice will be served.

abt the topic…atleast women india are taking a stand and action against pathetic men.when will this happen in pak? i guess not in this millennia when ppl like u have the brains the size of a peanut to justify everything.

I think this is a great organization, with some really cool ideas on how to make public statements on the topic. They need to open a sister organization in Pakistan.
Anyone who thinks Pakistani men don’t do the same thing is off their rocker. Although I have to admit, that this time when I went to Pakistan, things were a bit more under control. Not so much eve-teasing as before. But then again, I look a lot older, so maybe I’m not such a target anymore. I do know that I had to guard one of my younger cousins from it on a trip to the grocery store. One of the boys at the store was giving her some nasty looks, up and down, so I and a few others blocked his view. But that’s all you really can do. Just guard yourself, because the police sure wont take any action against it.
