My family is big on the desi style fruit chat, we have it everyday after dinner. I am trying to convince them that it’s better to eat it before the regular meal [daal roti] rather than after .. preferably with a good 15-20 minutes pause between the two.
I don’t know why I think its better .. someone must have told me why and now I can’t remember.

having it later would probably cause burning (u know as in gastric reflux etcetc..) having it before the dinner well its kind of topped off by roti and all that daal sooo....
Citric fruits do have higher acidity...and can cause problems if you are prone to GERD when eaten alone but for this case...ahmadjee, eating fruit seperatly for health reasons is a myth according to my nutritionist co-worker who's a phD in nutrition. some cultures use fruit as a dessert and the Beverely hills diet tried to promote seperate fruit eating to get diarrhea but there is no real reason to not eat fruit with your main meals.
