i like eating fruits a lot..but was just wondering…if i consume 3-4 apples alongwith plums..apricots ..water melon..(its summer and dont feel like having regular roti chawal and sallun..but not depriving myself from these completely..just reducing it to once daily)… wud such fruits increase the sugar level and make someone a diabetic? plz suggest and share ur views/experiences…
Re: fruits and diabetes
As far as i know certain fruits are okay... while other fruits are high in natural sugars too and should be eaten in moderation: grapes, and bananas and i think mangoes.. i'm sure there are more but these are the three that i know..but u dont have ot cut them out, i think the recommended amount (5 servings a day) should be okay for u and diabetics.
Re: fruits and diabetes
having a lot of sugar in ur blood doesnt necessarily mean you are gonna end up being diabetic. There's no studies that i have came across thus far that indicates that. Perfect example for me was my grandfather. He used to have 2 teaspoon of sugar and any fruit after every meal, and he was not diabetic.
Consuming alot of sugar won't make u a diabetic, it's hereditary and it's when u're spleen produces little insulin to regulate blood-sugars. Eat everything but in moderation, include veggie's into u're diet and soup that will keep u full.
thankx everyone
Re: fruits and diabetes
Consumption of sugar or things high in sugar is bad for Diabetics but for a normal person who does not have diabetes it is OK. They should be thanking Allah for his bounties and consume anything or everything but in moderation.
