its common for pakistanis to eat fruit chaat especially at iftari but recently i have heard that eating fruit chaat is not good because one should only eat one fruit at a time and eating more than one fruit at a time does not give the full benefits of either fruit to the body and sometimes its of no benefit to the body at all
the reason being something to do with enzymes and how fruits contain enzymes and how therefore eating several fruits at one time will cause the enzymes to be inhibited or something like that
can anyone who knows shed some light on this matter?
Load of nonsense. Why would eating a combination of fruits together cancel out the health benefits of the fruit? If anything there would be more benefits to eating a mixture of fruit becaus eyou are intaking different vitamins and minerals from each fruit.
I'm always making fruit smoothies with different fruits, depending on what I have at home and its a very filling drink.
ahmadjee and Zain12345 ofcourse i care and so should u :D infact i'm on a muhim to make the world stop making faroot chaat :D muhahahhaha
shahreen...seriously i aint kidding...sometimes if too many enzymez r together they can block each others actions and certain chemicals block the absorption of certain minerals and vitaminz by the body etc etc...if u took A level bio u mite rememeber they made us do that experiment with starberry milk and vitamin c...i think calcium affects the absorption of vitamin C or somfin like that...i could be totaly wrong ...but there is some scientific reason behind this trust me...:D
i'm just not sure exactly what the whole story is tho :D
5Abi bhai shukran for the research wa the laaltain :D

jihaaad!!!!! pls someone issue a fatwa against her for me to raseed her to hell and book my muQaam in Jannah :Pretty:
It's a myth. I just spoke with a co-worker who's a phD in Nutrition and lectures at UCSF.
She says it's a myth that mixing fruit reduces nutritional value.
What CAN reduce some nutritients is cutting fruit into very very small pieces and leaving it outside, uncovered for an extended time. Then, the fruit oxidizes and loses 10-20% of SOME of it's nutrients especially water soluables, especially vitamin C and folate.
OH and she's Latina so I checked if our mirchi/namak does anything and she said no. hope this helps!

Sounds like BS propaganda spread by the Dahi-Bhallay mafia.
I have also heard that irem, thats why ive cut down on fruit chart. What I do instead is have a banana, then an apple and then some grapes and then it all becomes a fruit chat in my stomach.
I like fruit chat…the kind that’s all spiced up, that is. My mom makes one mean fruit chat, I tell you all. Fruit chat is enjoyable, healthy (all that crock of bull about the benefits of eating mixed fruits together being cancelled out is pure balony), and fun. You can do alot with mixed fruit such as adding it as a topping to cheesecake, pcake, or pudding, adding whipped cream to it, making smoothies and milkshakes out of it, etc.
