Fruit and Vege Intakes per day!

Alright people for those who complaint about weight, health problems etc. What is your fruit or vege intake per day. For example, i Allah ka shukar hai work out, eat fruits as my snack. As substitute to sugar junk like chocos etc. So bottom line is..how much nutrients you take out of these per day.

yo mine is pretty high, i have to have every vege in my fridge so i always have like a big bag of mixed veges and then frozen spinach, beans, kale and mix it with my lunch or dinner and fruits usually i have grapes or loads of other fruit to munch on

I do not know how much it would amount to in terms of servings. But I take a fruit (banana, melon, etc) to work for snack. Lunch (at work ) is steamed veggies with sauce. I also try to drink a green smoothie each day which is a combo of fruits such as apple, blueberries, and a handful of spinach.

look at Canada’s food guide chart…that gives some guidelines as to how much of what to take everyday for a balanced diet.

@Nisha and RV. You girls must be proud of yourselves. We are what we put in our body.

@waleed..i would suggest to increase your fruit and vege intakes to make up for nutrients.

You see..half of our health issues would be taken care of..if we take health precautions and make right choices. I am not suggesting not to eat meat but what i am saying is..increase it. It has benefits.

My fruit intake comes from the home made smoothies that I like to drink post work.

Here is how I make it:

2% milk
1/2 apple (a whole apple just makes it too thick for my taste)
1 bananna
1-2 dates
handful of blueberries
handful of almonds
low fat flavoured yogurt (I like strawberry bananna)

Blend it all, enjoy!

umm I love baby carrots! Such a healthy snack especially for exam times, when you want to just chew on something!

today i hv made carrot , pomegranate , beetroot juice. then i put this mixture into blender put apples without peel and luttce leave few. and drink it. after drinking i feel headache. i think too much iron cause or wt do i? any suggestion?

Omg i lovvvvvvvvvvvvvve fruits. I have them everyday and take it as snack to work. I don't eat red meat, just chicken. I try to keep away from desi food at home but can't help it.

I once added fresh beet root to my green smoothie. BIG MISTAKE! It turned the whole thing so cloyingly sweet that it was inedible.

As for the headache that you got.......it can be due to several reasons (stress, dehydration, hormones, etc) and not necessarily because of the smoothie. I don't think the ingredients that you've listed contain a lot of iron. I add a handful of spinach to mine..which contains a lot of iron..but I haven't had a headache from it. I made one only a couple of hours ago......I chopped up a 1 small green apple, 1 carrot, a handful of blueberries, and a handful of spinach leaves....and blended it with some lemonade (sometimes I use orange juice).
